Got the Battank from Shop @ Home yesterday.

Haven't opened the set yet, but it's a pretty big box.

The only reason I ordered it from Shop @ Home is because in the Summer 2007 catalog it said you could get a Batman comic with any Batman purchase.

Unfortunatley, when I opened the box last night, I was quite disappointed to see no comic.

Anybody get the Batman comic?

My son got the comic with Brickmaster subscription back in December. It's mostly just profiles of the characters and ads/pictures of the 2006 sets. Very similar to the website. The actual comic is only a couple of pages long, and not really all that amazing. Batman, Nightwing & Robin round up all the villians. Two-face & Joker get a few panels, but the rest of the crooks just get one panel each of them being captured.

My son likes it, but he is only five. I'd say you're not really missing out on much. It's really just an ad.

Thanks for the info, Crusader.

Now I don't feel so bad about missing out.

If I were DC, I would make a new LEGO Batman monthly comic, since DC already publishes the Bionicle comic.

The LEGO Batman comic could be part of the kids line of comics.

I agree, Lego Batman is an obvious niche for young kids. It is still cool enough being both Batman and Lego, but not nearly as dark as most modern comic interpretations of Batman.

In one of the animated Batman movies Lego made, there is a great sequence of the Batwing knocking some bricks loose off of a building and them falling into a perfect jail cell around the Joker. The brick-based humor is missing from most of the existing Lego batman comics on the back of the sets.

Hopefully the new Lego Batman game coming out next year will be the perfect blend of Lego, Batman, action and humor.

My Dad just got me the Battank yesterday (thanks Dad!) and I'm building it right now. Personally, I was really disappointed about the lack of a proper base from the finalized version. However, the set is way cooler than I sincerely expected. Bane's motorcycle is very nicely designed, and the Riddler's jetpack is succint and realistic. A proper review will follow today or tommorrow in the reviews section, with photos if I can upload them!

I've managed to get every Lego Batman set available. I'm hoping to see more sets in the future, hopefully they will include villians such as Firefly, Man-bat, and Clayface

(Well, all except the UCS Batmobile)

That UCS Batmobile is at a great price right now and definitely worth looking at if you are looking to fortify your batcave...

Normally, I shy away from UCS, just not my thing.

Well, picked up the UCS Batmobile. Didn't get it for half off, unfortunately, but still got it for under $50.

I have to admit, at least this UCS I like. The styling is great, and it I love all the detail.

Plus, after building it, if it doesn't tickle your fancy, then it's a great set for black pieces and you get 4 more of the batsymbol dishes.

I'm thinking of picking up another one for parts in the future, but right now my wallet is shrinking from lack of funding. Smile

Found a review of the UCS Batmobile with some pics and mods.

About the Battank, I really liked the tank. I was really surprised at how well the treads roll.

I bought the Exo-Force tank and was greatly disappointed at those treads. The model would usually fall apart from me trying to push the tank and get the treads to roll.

Unfortunatey, the hideout is non-existent and I would've preferred a different villian than Riddler since I already got the Arkham set.

The Bane minifigure is excellent, though. Especially the detailed printing on the back of the figure.

There's a good review of 7787 at Eurobrick's forums with photos.

Did you guys notice that w/ the release of the supposed 2008 line up, we won't be getting any new batman for all we know. Maybe they are putting and end to the series? I mean, what vehicles do they have left to build?

A Bat-Sub?

With the Dark Knight coming in the summer, it would make sense to see more Batman related items coming in June of next year, but who knows...

feel free to stop by Jedd's and my sticky's to build your own creations to the Batman line...

A few items come to mind however:

Stately Wayne Manor
Bat-cycle / Bat-pod
Batmobile (there are more than just one)
Tumbler
Bat-jet from the Superfriends?
Bat Rocket?

I've made a bat-cycle already. All you do is take Nightwing's and use a batman logo sticker instead of the other

I picked up the new Star Wars sets at Target here in the LA area yesterday, but I was curious if anyone has seen the new Batman sets in Retail stores yet.

Toys R Us, and from the look of their shelf planners, they are supposed to be high on the top shelves (too high for most 6 to 8 year olds to see Crying or Very sad ). I think that you'll see a resurgance of BatLEGO this coming Spring due to the next BatMovie release. Fingers crossed!!!! Very Happy

I only saw the Batcopter set at TRU and even then, the last time I went there, they didn't have it in stock.

I ordered/received the Battank set from Shop @ Home.

So far I haven't seen any of the new Batman sets at Target or Walmart.

My wallet is glad but my heart is sad that there are only 2 Batman sets for the summer.

Maybe LEGO is waiting for The Dark Knight and/or LEGO Batman Video Game to be released before pushing more Batman sets out.

I really hope this line is doing well and that LEGO branches out to other DC heroes.

I'm really disappointed in TLG right now.

Thought it was pretty bad them not even showing the Batman sets in the Fall '07 catalog.

Now, on other LEGO sites, they had scans of the '08 catalog and no Batman sets in the scanned pages either!

If it wasn't for the LEGO Batman game coming out, I'd say LEGO dropped the Batman line altogether.

Scans/leaked stuff aside, the Batman series has often been an off-cycle line. All of the updates we've seen in the last couple of cycles have come in the fall, not in the spring. So it's not unusual that there's no news here. Same thing happened last year, no new sets in the winter but we have the two that came out recently.

I agree on that. So far, I haven't actually seen any leaked stuff regarding Lego Batman for next year's release. I'm pretty sure, however, that they'll make at least a couple of sets to coincide with the release of The Dark Knight.

Yeah, we need some more Batman sets next year. Hopefully Commissioner Gordon, Batgirl, and Harley Quinn will turn up.

LEGO has now posted the instructions for the next wave of Batman sets, including Harley Quinn's Hammer Truck and The Tumbler.

Looking at page 25, step 37, of the first Tumbler Instruction book, it looks like "VENOM" stickers are being put on Joker's Ice Cream truck.

Maybe that's his "Icecream Surprise", a bunch of kids hopped up on Venom.

That would be a good comic to read. Smile

Ah so the hunt is on !!

I think I'll have problems finding these sets because a French rep told me they were not going to carry that line (I didn't get if it was the store operated by Lego France or Lego France totally). Oh well I can alwaysd have them shipped from UK or the US, but its a hassle.

Didn't realize the sets were coming out so soon. Thought they wouldn't hit till at least early June.

May have to do a little toy shopping this evening. Smile
