Try making a game that follows a film exactly (BFII didn't).

Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy.

BFI = Battlefront I

EDIT: Jargon beat me to it.

LISTEN, I DON'T MEAN TO SHOUT, BUT THE REASON THAT THE STORY WAS CHANGED WAS SO MULTIPLAYER COULD BE AVAILABLE. LEGO STAR WARS I AND II ARE TWO OF THE BEST SW GAMES EVER, SO DO NOT DISS ON A LSW FORUM.

People don't die/there is no 'Game Over' because it is a) very easy to die b) aimed at kids, who need a not so hard game.
Studs make much more sense as currency in a LEGO World than /$ etc.
Nobody talks because it adds to the humour.
They make up sets that aren't made becuase they need sets that are integral to the plot.
As you copied yourself, I will: Try making a game that follows a film exactly (BFII didn't).
By mistake you should mean It Was A Mistake For You to Post That!

If you want a realistic game, don't buy anything SW.

And no, I don't understand.

I do have opinions. In fact, I'm very opinionated. However, I think it's fine for others to disagree with me. Hopefully, as you grow up, you will too. Smile

So its cheaper to make because that way they dont have to add all the different dialouges to the game

Considering that it is LEGO Star Wars, doesn't that make sense?
Quote:

Why is that a bad thing? There are tons of games that do this?
Quote:

Again, why is this bad?
Quote:

That's part of the humor. Just because you can't appreciate it doesn't make it bad.

If the game had been restricted to sets LEGO has made, it'd be a pretty lacking game.

It's fine that you don't like the game, but don't tell us that we're dumb for liking it.

Just curious; do you refer to some single major thing or the inconsistencies in general?

The main story (Rise of the Empire) is not canon.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. It's quite fuzzy situation, but as far as I've understood, the story itself is canon if it doesn't contradict with other, more remarkable sources. Most of the details are just game mechanics and are non-canon, but the event itself and its main features are canon.

I could be wrong, though. I wonder what the Holocron continuity database says about this..

Wookiepedia says it is non-canon.

Sorry to bring this back, but I have a couple things to add.
Hanperez wrote:

That's part of what maes it LEGO. LEGO people can be taken apart and put back together, so why not do that in the game?
Hanperez wrote:

That's part of the "little kid" appeal. No little kid (or parent) would want to have to deal with losing and starting over from the beginning. Now, if you want a more challenging game, by all means get one, but don't start complaining about LSW until you know why.
Hanperez wrote:

That adds to the humor and LEGO-ness of the game. LEGO people don't talk. I found it quite clever how they stuck to th storyline without dialogue. Besides, have you ever watched Tom & Jerry?! They don't talk, but it's still humorous.
Jargon wrote:

Exactly.
Hanperez wrote:

I have to admit that kinda annoyed me too. But what would you expect. They had to do this so there would be more to the game. And who knows, they might make these sets in the future.
Hanperez wrote:

They have to to make it drop in/drop out freindly. Plus it's Lucas so he can do what he wants with the game. If you really wanted to complain about the game, complain about the Scout Trooper not being more playable than an extra in two levels, or the fact that the character customizer doesn't give you every character's parts to use, or that prequal characters don't apearin the Cantina and that you can't use their parts in character customizer(one head doesn't count).

Well my favorite game would have to be Battlefront 2.

And my whole opinion on the "argument" going on here...You may take notes if you desire...

And how is that? Sorry, you already told us Oh Master of Knowledge.

I donno man, it looks funnier to dance and clap with tounge and cheek humor than using dialouge with your voice. And another thing, the battle droids say "Roger Roger".

Quote:

Master of Knowledge, may I give you a reminder to put more effort in your grammar? I can't understand what you are saying here.

Quote:

Umm, how are you supposed to play with a friend/relative without those things. My only dissapointment with the plot is that Luke and Vader never fight at the end of ROTJ, but that won't take the game from my 9/10 rating.

You really aren't the master of knowledge, are you?

One of my all-time favorite Star Wars games besides LSW I has got to be Star Wars for the NES. I don't know why, but I find that game so appealing.

My favorite SW game... Is Episode I: The Phantom Menace!!

Sike. That game was pretty good, but definitely not my favorite... Not by a long shot...

My favorite game would have to be Battlefront. Although it has less features than the sequel, I like it because it has the Bespin and Rhen Var maps, plus it has more than one map for each planet. I know that the XBox expansion pack for BFII had all the BF levels, but since I don't have an XBox, The original BF is still my fave.) Cool

That really didn't phase me. I like BFII much better because it has much better gameplay. Since I own both, I can always go back and play the first one if I want to play those levels, which I did, and thats how I realized just how much better the gameplay is.

Without a doubt the original "X-Wing" game for PC.

It was painstakingly HARD in some spots... incredibly nerve-wracking, pull your hair out hard! But SOooo rewarding once you finished it.

'Ell, I used to own both, but I still preferred I over II, which is a good thing, since my copy of II doesn't work anymore!! Mad

Well, since this thread is alive again I guess I'll put in my opinion.

Bounty Hunter-Best game ever, though it is pretty tough.
Lego Star Wars 2-Just plain funny.
Battlefront 2-I like this because theres no story('cept Rise of the Empire)and you don't have to go all through a level to beat the battle, you just kill guys or capture cp's.
