My brother sent me this via email so maybe some of you have seen it before. The email had been forwarded so many times it didn't say who the inventor was. Even so, it's worth sharing here.

Quote:
This picture was made just prior to completion and the two outboard jets are now finished the same as the centre tail jet.

It is based on a 1988 Ford Escort donor. This is actually licensed in California and I have driven it on the Hollywood Freeway to Hollywood Boulevard (Chinese Theater) for a photo op. Of course when I registered it, there was no visual inspection by DMV so as far as "they" knew, it is an Escort. It's best to truck it to whatever location you want.

The radiator has been redone and the tranny and other drive parts checked and work well.

For a realistic look, it has not been done in a "factory fresh" style but made to reflect the idea that it has been in the desert and in use for decades. Right now there is some touch-up painting needed but otherwise it looks good. If you are into it, you can redo the interior dash to a better Landspeeder look and that should not take a lot of work if you do it yourself.

I have put on blue underlighting to give it the impression of floating, plus I have all the parts needed to put a vapor propane flame-thrower into the centre jet and had it in at one point. It threw a wicked four-foot blue flame.

My only fear would be if it got into a wreck/was damaged.

Dude, I did not need that, and neither did this community. Keep it at least PG-13.

You're the one describing the mini-speeder as gay.

Just FYI. Don't want to deal with it? Don't bring it up.

Gay or not, that less impressive landspeeder is... well, it's really less impressive.

Me? I'd rather just go for some logo on a car. Republic insignia, maybe wing markings, I dunno. But not a landspeeder. bleh.

The H-WIng on RoadSquadron is definately my favorite. But a cruise ship Star Destroyer would be awesome.Very Happy

Gay doesn't have to mean people having sex with other people. It is also used as an adjective to show disagreement or sad humor. Sheesh. I'm not unhappy with it, I just think it was uneccessary.

Well, "Gay" originated as being synonymous with happy, gleeful, and merry; but in this day and age it has taken on new meaning (as stated above). The way you used it stemmed from derogatory comments towards people of the aforementioned lifestyle, and expanded into a quick jab at anything someone felt superior to in one sense or another... so if anyone should keep it PG-13 (or even just PC Wink) well, it shouldn't be brought up at all.

And now we're straying far far from the topic. Here's something to drag us back in... My concept site for my old Toyota pick-up Wink <- I'm actually still on the Road Squadron member list as well, because I had real intentions to follow that through, before mechanical difficulties crushed my geeky, geeky plans Rolling Eyes

Those cars look neat, but they all look too much like cars! Decals are decals.

Now if someone made a motorcycle (1 pilot) with wings coming out from each side, and an R2 then you could have an X-wing.

P.S.
Don, I am glad there are people like you here who can rationally deal with stupidity. Thanks.

Actually, with the right type of motercycle, you could make a pretty close match of a speeder bike!

Anyone wanna contact Monster Garage about this? Wink
