It's too bad....I will probably pass that up since $60 + tax really isn't all that cheap.

Yes, I guess it is already being discussed. Sorry for the duplicate thread. I think this probably makes the item more visible at least!

Also for Black Friday, KMart will have All Lego sets Buy 2 - get 1 free.

I think this is a good deal, considering that 3 years ago, the 4504 Falcon was a $50 Black Friday special. Oil cost less then, and the economy was better as well. Besides, if you don't own this set and are thinking about buying it, Black Friday is the time to do it.

Have you seen a decent selection at a Kmart recently? Mine only have the magna droid fighters.

If you were asking me, I was referring to the Target special, not the KMart special. The KMart near me is quite sucky.

That's only 33% off whereas target special is 40% and as per other members, K mart does not have alot to offer and you only get 33% off as a maximum if you buy all three sets with the same value, which is not possible unless you buy three separate lego themes/licences or three of the same lego set. However, I am sure it will be difficult to find the star destroyer at a target also.

I didn't say it was a steal, I was just pointing it out...I don't even have a K-mart close by anymore. I was just saying I think the star destroyers were going for around $85ish on ebay before they eventually sold out so for $60 + $5 tax it's not a huge deal to me...definitely not first on my list.

Oh, dammit. Aside from my pathological hatred of Black Friday, I don't even have $60 to spend. Sad

Not for Black Friday.

So? Most days aren't Black Friday. It's still 40% off the price of an expensive set.

For those who think the set is expensive at $60. Look back at this thread again after a year or two and you'll likely find that the price of the ISD will be selling for over $200 on Bricklink or Ebay. Stock up now on this coveted item.

I need to bribe someone into picking an extra one of these up and holding it for me.

Yeah I know...that's why I'll still probably be getting one if I can. It's just a little disappointing that Target keeps upping the sale price every year.

I don't think there's a limit to 1 on them....although I don't find it right to take more than 1, considering there's barely any as it is.

Yeah. Someone took and bough 8 boxes of newer MF sets, cutting me and my brother off on chance to buy them. Sad

I still want to get one, but nows not good.

If you want to be real tricky about it, buy them all now. Then on Black Friday while everyone is crowding the aisles you can calmly stroll over to customer service with your receipt and have them credit you the price difference.

Will Target even do that? I really doubt they'd let that happen....not to mention it's not right.

I've never tried. I'd heard from other nameless strangers on the Internet that stores don't pricematch Black Friday sale items (even their own).

If all else fails, you could always buy now, or buy soon, and if they don't price match it on black friday, return the set. Then, buy it back at the sale price, but be sure that you go on Black Friday. I'm going to do just that. I'm going to be caring for my daughter that day, so there's no way I'm going to be able to get there with the crowds. No LEGO set is worth my 7 month old getting crushed. So, I'll walk in there on Friday night and get an adjustment. Frankly, if the stores don't want people to do this, they shouldn't have the stuff available for sale before Black Friday.

I called my nearest Target and they told me they would not price match that particular ad. In general they do (up to 7 days after purchase), but they won't be doing that for the 2 day ad.

That's a pretty good point against anyone thinking the price adjustment trick is dishonest.

I learned today that I can purchase the ISDs and present my receipt to any Target store during the sale to get the price adjustment.

As I'll be travelling home for Thanksgiving, I made sure to clean house at my local Target store today before heading out to make another clean sweep back at home.

That is the exact opposite of what I was told. Maybe I had better call a different Target in case I was dealing with someone not in the loop or something.

I was told today that I can indeed buy now and present the receipt later to get the sale price, but I inadvertently neglected to ask whether I can indeed do this at any store, though I wouldn't be surprised if I could. The problem is that I can't contact the actual specific store I'll be near on Friday and Saturday (I'm traveling for the holiday too). I did look it up on Target's site, but for some reason I can't connect to that store's listed number with my phone.

I've bought items at one Target and then later returned them to a different Target, so you shouldn't have to go to the specific Target where the purchase occurred.
