*EDIT* Scroll down for updates Very Happy

I recently read some of the 'Hammer's Slammers' series, and I just had to build some form of floaty thing.

Personally I'm happy with this thing. If you really try, it can fit five to six troopers.

Hi ho hover truck, away!

The cabin

Official 'Tail-watcher'

The armored skirt and body

The underside, which shows off all four engine nacelles

The truck's other side

And that's all folks. Thanks for looking and please leave a comment Smile

I really like it and it's well done particularly the underside, but it looks nothing like the real ones.

In this specific context, "the real ones" is a very amusing term...

I don't know if it's me who's been rarely checking out this forum or you haven't been to active, but I'm glad to see a new MOC from you.

Not only has your building skill evolved, but your pictures are starting to look great! The hoverthing looks great as a support vehicle, ferrying supplies and ammo to some more advanced machines or mechs.

I've also been watching some Gundam series lately, and that reminded me of some of your older MOCs. I hope you keep this up and I'm looking forward to your next creation.

Thanks everyone!

@Starbeanie: When I say inspired, I mean I had an uncontrollable urge to build something that hovered.

@Olog: I haven't been building an incredible amount lately. And thank you very much!

I made the truck a smaller floating companion.

The bike:

Front

back

side

side

underside

I'm not sure what Hammer's Slammers is, but I love the truck! Chunky, highly swooshable, flows nicely, and perfectly sized without being too small or too big. This is the kind of MOC that immediately has me making flying/floating/engine sounds in my head when I see it, it works so nicely. Smile You did a great job with the underside too.

If I were to make any suggestions for change, it'd be to the minifigs. The general shape of the truck and canopy are great by themselves, but paired with those figs it's just a little too "I took an Indy set and MOCed it". I'm not saying that's all there is to it, hardly, but a different choice of torsos, hats, faces or even altogether different fig colors would've help separate this into its own universe instead of having an oddly futuristic Indy flavor.

I'll try it with some different figs, then.

Jeez it's hard to keep this thing alive.
Anywho here's the new crew, as requested by Morgan19

I've used my favorite pair, the boys with the orange jumpsuits and white hard-hats. Smile

The Mini-figs work perfectly. I think you should add another pair of lights under the head lights to match the others. I believe you are going for some asymmetry but for it to be somewhat realistic the headlights should be balanced on each side.

I took the idea from Nannan. I used a scuba diver's mask with a 1x1 stud. I saw Nannan use it in this and I was rather taken with the idea.
And I appreciate it! the biker's one of my favorite figs I made myself.

It took me about five minutes to put in new lights, and about six days to get pics up. I have to work on my procrastinating...

And here's a better view of the new greebles under the lights.

That's all I've got for now. If there's something you think needs improving, let me know. This is my pet project for the forseeable future. Smile
