Looks like there's an online survey from LEGO targeted specifically at AFOLs. A few very interesting questions including what "complaints" you have about the company and its products as well as your favorite online communities (found on Brickset):

Click here to take the online survey

Quote:
"As Adult Fans of LEGO, you bring an important perspective to the LEGO Group. We respect your creativity and passion for our brand.

"Please take a few moments to complete this short online survey to let us know your opinion on how we are doing.

"We promise to listen to you and use your feedback to improve!

"You might notice that the link refers to the LEGO Kids Inner Circle; this is because Satmetrix, which hosts that site, is also supporting our efforts to track AFOL opinions. Rest assured that this survey is for AFOL's only. "

Some people have reported getting errors when trying to take the survey. If you encounter any issues, just try again later.

Yep; the last page should've said something along the lines of "You are done, you can close this page now".

I interpreted LUG as a club with face-to-face meetings, but FBTB was my #1 Internet LEGO thingy.

Lego interprets it a little differently. The fact that we have two Ambassadors here means Lego considers us a LUG Wink

This is the time to give Lego some important feedback. Don't let me hear you say "I wish Lego _________" if you don't take three minutes to complete the survey.

I interpreted LUG the way Draykov did. At first I put FBTB and Classic-Castle on the list of LUGs I belong to, but then I thought it referred to actual get-togethers and went back and changed it to a 'No.' Ah well; at least I got to give LEGO some feedback. Thanks for the survey!

I said no to LUGs, because I'm not part of the local LUG near me.

But I put FBTB as my top lego related site.

My #1 and #2 issues were "PRICE too high" and "bring back 9V trains", respectively.

Those who list Eurobricks as #1 will find a lump of coal in their stocking come Christmas morning. Wink Laughing Seriously though, I think it'll be a close call. Eurobricks have a pretty big Star Wars section when you look at what they have. Shocked

I like that questionnaire. It has some good questions included.
I wonder though, if we ever hear something about the results?

Just completed the survey...

Here's my main beef with the on-line section of the survey (prompted by Emperor's post above):
There are some other sites that continually violate the Lego groups wishes to keep sets secret until their official unveiling (what we, on this site, call RTB). Even though they have this issue, they were listed as choices in the survey. Why would Lego sanction a survey that has groups listed they constantly have issues with? (When I say issues, I'm referring to the "cease and desist" order I heard was given out last year.) Seems funny to me.
Are they just trying to figure out how many people are soliciting sites with leaked information? Hmmm...

^^^

That is a very, very good question. Many people here chafe under the RtB policy. LEGO clearly appreciates our adherence to RtB. If this is the case, why even make sites that violate RtB an option? It seems like a tacit endorsement of abuses.

Anyway, I finished the survey and of course listed FBTB as my #1 site.

I think the selections listed are drawn from inputed answers (that seems to be the latest thing in surveys now), so it's probably not a case of LEGO endorsing these sites, just the fact that people have been putting them in as answers.

Good survey though, I hope LEGO actually listens this time.

Right at the top Wink

I hope that TLC listen to the results of the questionnaire. My main beef was the escalating costs of sets in the UK and the fact that releases are always late.

I don't see it as an endorsement of those sites. They want to know which sites are the most popular so excluding some because they don't foolow RTB wouldn't give accurate feedback.

From a marketing perspective, LEGO could go to the sites that rank the highest and say "We want to strengthen our relationship with you but you need to get on board with RTB." On the other hand, they SHOULD come to FBTB and say "You guys are great with RTB so we're going to reward you with ________" like exclusive pics or something. Just my speculation.

Oh, I messed up on my survey if LEGO considers this place a LUG. I rated it as my favorite LEGO website, but I put that I didn't belong to a LUG. Oh well.

Same here. I answered that I was part of a LUG, but didn't mention FBTB.
