And I just now came across this thread....

I quite enjoy Walter-M8 and his crazy adventures! He's so cute, yet so tiny!

I think, just for that joke, you should be put back on trial.

I've got a Canon Powershot A640, but really the trick here is post processing... when I get home I'll load the raw shot straight from the camera. This was a pretty meh lookin pic, but I adjusted the levels and cleaned out some noise and extraneous shadows to get it how I wanted.

Yay for post processing. Totally essential if your light source absolutely sucks.

Don,

That last one seems like it should be on one of those "Inspirational" posters with a heading like "Challenge" or "Obstacles".

I've still got a J5 or two around here somewhere, and I'm not sure what a M7 is... Walter is a M8.

That's pretty cool. Remindes me of the Tantive IV...that might have been what you were going for but whatever. How did you achieve the lighting? It seems without some interesting lighting it would look much darker.

I built up the tunnel with a bunch of those Final Duel 2 corridor sections, with a few gaps and a crossing path in the middle, and at the far end behind Walter I had a white page at 45 that I shinned my light on from above. As a MOC, it's terrible... but as a studio of sorts for a picture, it worked perfectly.

It's based this pic from a similar corridor I made a while back as a simple moonbase section:

But that one was kind of boring so I made a few changes.

He'd be a little late by then. Wink

I don't think I've commented yet on these weekly pics of Walter. They're excellently photographed and very unique, Don. I like them.

Walter does look just a BIT guilty there, I must say. These are all great, with just the right amount of tongue-in-cheekiness. I look forward to many more!

This is adorable and very artistic. I've always loved M8, he's just so expressive even though he's built out of a few simple pieces, perhaps like the WALL-E of Lego. These pictures could easily become an internet meme.

These are very well done. Especially this last one. I actually amazed how you give scale to these pictures and they are most likely done in very small spaces. Even when I look at the pieces that make up Walter in my hand, and see how small they are, the photgraghy is done well enough to make him appear as if he's much larger. Then you do pictures like the previous week were he does appear very small. I'm asuming that you use the same Walter every time, and the fact that you can change the scale is really... well, I'm afraid to say it... brilliant. You do have definate talent when it comes to this still life type of photgraghy. You do a good job of telling a slice of Walter's life in a very simple way in a single moment.
