Nice one!!

On reflection it appears Woolworths are in danger of disappearing. We lost our local one a good few years back too and it wouldn't surprise me, given the current climate and their poor performance (£100M half year loss), if they don't go to the wall altogether.

Shame really. Woolworths stores are a bit of a British institution.

Argos/Homebase are feeling the pinch too. Maybe they should all merge and downsize.

My closest Woolworths finally closed today. I missed their "everything £1 or less sale" but oh well.

It's gonna be a Tesco. I might get a job there. Who knows

Also on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-Star-Wars-7676-Republic/dp/B0018PP2UO/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=kids&qid=1224944090&sr=1-10 £20 cheaper. Bargain

Woolworths are doing the three for two offer again. It includes the items on sale, ie; get three droid gunships for just under £35.

25% off Clone Wars at Tesco

http://direct.tesco.com/promo/?id=S00007877

This means we can all get a Republic Tank for just £37.47 Very Happy I've ordered one ... which means I now have all the Clone Wars sets Very Happy Yay

Note ... it seems all Star Wars Lego is in the deal, whether they're in the Clone Wars or not, so if you want a cheaper AT-ST or Y-Wing then you can get em here too Very Happy

*edit*

I just realised, I've not paid RRP for any sets in the CW range Very Happy yay ... it pays to wait it out

Thanks Pete!

I checked out my local Tesco and all the CW sets were on sale.. so it is not just a Tesco Direct deal.
I picked up the Republic Tank and used a £6 off checkout coupon.. so at under £32 was a nice price. Smile

They also had the Naboo Starfighter (7660) on clearance for around £15.

Thanks for that!! Where did you get the £6 off Checkout coupon?

Also someone at work said they had a flyer from Tescos which had on it a Millennium Falcon for £149.99? Any ideas about that! hope it's not the 10179 as I would not be happy after I spent £350 on it? But what else can it be? He said he will dring it to work for me tomorrow Confused

Ignore my last port in relation to the Falcon it was a misunderstanding it's the Hasbro figure one that is £149.99, The Guy at work didnít realise that they do those!!

Still interested in the £6 checkout voucher as the tank is the only CW set I need?

Thanks

It was a 'spend £40 get £6 off' coupon that they gave me at a checkout a few days before... and they gave me another when I paid for my tank!

It seems very competitive out there in retail land. TRU gave me a similar checkout coupon recently which is £5 off if I spend £30.

Like Pete I haven't had to pay anywhere near the RRP on any Clone Wars sets.

Actually I am not sure I would have bought that many of them at the RRP as I thought them all heavily overpriced. I was saving for the Death Star but when Lego added over £70 to the original price of that I decided to give it a miss and picked up the CW sets instead.

when I went to pick up my order at Tescos today I could tell that the box was battered in the packaging. As they'd suddenly got some stocks of the Republic Tank on the shelves, I got a refund on my online order and then re-bought the set, using a £4 off a £30 shop voucher I'd just obtained from doing the weekly shop! Very Happy Nice ...

So you're both getting these vouchers from Tesco? And these are the sort that you find attached to your receipt at the bottom? From what I know, these vouchers are printed out according to what you buy, how often and how much you spend on average. Vouchers usually range from 30p to £1.50 off whatever. After seeing what you're getting, how much money are you spending each week at Tesco? Shocked

i usually shop at Asda, so I haven't bought anything of any great significance for ages. In fact, the last thing I did buy was the V-19 Torrent just after it came out as I have a Clubcard voucher to use (£5 off a £35+ spend).

I got the £4 off voucher with the till receipt after a £55 food shop. Perhaps they're trying to entice me back rather than rewarding a regular shopper ?

I was surprised to get coupons as I haven't really spent a lot on Tesco recently. I used to.. but not any more. It would appear to be an incentive to get me in the door.

We do get our food from there but my wife has it delivered and she has a different Clubcard. I guess I do get petrol from them but only use my car for local journeys.

It may be, as Pete has suggested, that Tesco, like so many retailers, are really trying to shift stock quickly. Christmas could prove to be a bit of a flop for them this year.

I hope that the new 2009 Lego sets are priced to sell.

I know! Very Happy I really want to get some. However, I refuse to buy anything off Shop@Home. Their P+P costs are just too expensive. Confused

True. Neutral

As for the V-19 Torrent deal, Woolworths also have them for a cheap price. £19.99. Exclamation
