Apologies if this topic has been posted (I tried searching and could not find it).

1) Does anyone know where the 3rd and 4th "circular imperial" stickers go, or are they extras?

2) Did anyone notice that the main stickers on the wings are reversed when comparing the manual with the box art? Which one is "correct"?

The little yellow-orange triangle stickers are in slightly different places in the instructions and box art, too.

Did the model builder for the box art not follow the instructions, or did the instruction maker ignore the prototype? Very Happy

The Gunships in the movie have them the same as the instructions, so if anything, that's the correct way.

What's with the sticker that is supposed to be applied on the co-pilot's cockpit canopy?
Only saw the movie once last week and not having built the 7676 RGS yet I didn't take time to see if the view of the co-pilot is obscured.

Is there a red band over the top of the co-pilot's cockpit in the movie?

I chose to follow the box art for the triangle stickers. It looks more symmetrical.

Why couldn't they have placed a standard generic sticker (minus the twilek and kowokian) for the front. I you choose to purchase and build a third gunship (which I plan to, though I don't really have the room), you will be without a sticker to individualize it. I doubt all gunships of each squadron would have the same artwork painted on the ship's hull or would they?

Yes. It's not a CW thing though all RGS's have that type of canopy starting all the way back with the original ones in Attack of the Clones. They just didn't do it on the the first set.

I don't know how hard it would be to just remove the art with a pair of scissors but it may be worth a try.

Gunships would have different nose art, no two ships would have the same thing.......you mean this set doesn't come with a "plain" decal....so you can leave it UNMARKED?

No, there isn't a "plain" sticker included. It's either include the nose art or leave the stickers off. It's not the best for collectors, but you have to remember that LEGO is a toy and kids usually want toys they recognize. Thus, the two nose art designs featured in the movie are the choices. It makes sense from TLG's standpoint.

Sure, but let's say your rich enough to buy 3 of them....I saw the movie...but I don't remember seeing the nose art on any of the gunships.....maybe I just overlooked it. I thought for sure a "blank" decal would be an option....oh well.

I'm pretty sure the gunship that Yoda arrived into to backup up Obi-wan and Anakin had the "Lucky Lekku" art, and the gunship that dropped Anakin of in at the monastery had the bomb monkey on it.

RF Aurora is right. Both of the LEGO stickers were featured in The Clone Wars. In addition to the scenes he listed, both can be seen in the hangar scene as well as a third design. StarWars.com featured them here. The designs are also featured prominently in The Clone Wars: The Visual Guide and on the Hasbro Gunships. I think Lucasfilm made a big deal about the nose art to their licensees as part of their emphasis on the humanizing of the clones for this series.

Thanks again for the cool link! I guess I remember the "Lucky Lekku" now, or Sleepy Time Gal (WWII bomber version nose art) seeing the stills from the film....the other ones you would need a magnifying glass to see.
I think they look pretty good....but I have heard people say they wish they could do a plain version as well.

Now I am not saying I'm running a decal business but I think I can make some plain stickers for those interested.

Um, yeah, that.. that might be a good place to start. Wink
Still for anyone else here's both sides, and credit goes to the person who did it first, I just duplicated and flipped it around(a very simple and easy procedure). I'm not sure on the size, but it should be right.

Ha, yes it would be a good start by getting the set. I have to put out the fire in my wallet caused by the death star first.

Is there any way to get a hi-res version of the file you posted?

thanks!

Do the nose art stickers cover multiple pieces?

No, the stickers don't overlap pieces, also the sticker/decal above should be a better quality now. I am almost done with a nexu nose art, any ideas on what the writing should say?

How about,
"Take out a leg,
we've got plenty
."

In Aurbesh, of course. I know, but it's the best I could come up with Embarassed . Ooh, and a Rancor would be so sweet! If I still had Photoshop I would give this a shot.

Actually I think the arc trooper gunship from the first clone wars is a rancor.
I just looked up nexu on the starwars databank, and bound they ILM crew (not sure what that is) nicknamed it "bad kitty," which I think works rather well. the nexu is finished I just have to add the text, and then I shall not hesitate to show you.

Here's the nexu gunship decal I promised, I present to you "Bad Kitty."

As a reminder "bad kitty" is the nickname it received when being created.
The size should be right or pretty close, but you may have to play with it a little.

Also same as the plain sticker, you will have to play with the size to get it right.

Blackninjatom

Now that's a sticker I would use with a gunship. Quite a bit cooler than the official ones. Smile

I don't have the original gunship so I can't help on whether they would fit or not, and as for the acklay(green spider thingy) it's on the list of things I might try. Also glad everyone likes it.

edit: finished acklay on next page

I like it, it will be competing with "lucky Lekku" when my set arrives. ...Might buy and extra set of panels so I can interchange them.

Am I missing something?

The posted Alt Images are very tiny (274 * 105) and don't appear to be linked to larger images....
