u know, i have no explanation, but perhaps its just Karma playing its part to the note that America gets a lot of exclusives through the conventions, subscriptions, magazines etc.....we get NONE of those in Australia.... _________________ a V8 engine has power thats no lie, but an arc-welder operates at six thousand degrees Celcius...i would rather spend $100 AUD on an arc welder for power thanks. |

ughh Yet another thread we can bring down with arguing about countries who are angry with America when it comes to Lego. I don't mean to mini-mod (if this even counts as that) But can you guys please not bring in more of this ranting into yet another thread. It's getting rather annoying to have to skip over.
And as for the ACTUAL topic, I don't know why it's not available in the States. Is it actually on the American S@H at all? _________________

DestructiveDelirium is right. The United States isn't the magical land where free LEGO rains from the sky that people around here seem to think it is lately.
As for the topic, I'm pretty sure this is scheduled to be released at a later date in the U.S. There's going to be another big marketing push at Lucasfilm in October when the actual Clone Wars series starts, so it makes sense to hold some product for that effort. I know Hasbro's doing this with some of their products. |

Well I wasn't saying anything about how good or bad America is. All I was saying is that it's annoying to read people complaining about the SAME thing constantly. _________________

Yeah I believe I saw it will be released in the U.S. in August or September as a Target Exclusive. It will definitely be available in the U.S. though. _________________ XBLive = BlitzKreger

I called TLC customer service and was told that it was coming to North America. No date was given, however, but it is coming. Gives us time to prepare. |

Well, I'd count on early October, maybe even late September. Thats usually how TLG is. They give a definate month, in this case October 1st, but release it a few days early. Most likely to ensure that by the time October rolls around, the sets are available everywhere. _________________

If anyone knows where this is, I am looking to invest in some property, perhaps I could build a vacation home with a big funnel on the roof.

Just a small off topic note regarding those exclusives: its quite annoying since in France we don't have Wallmarts or Targets and there is a slight possibility that the tank will suffer the Tie Crawler and Sith Infiltrator's fate by not hitting retail stores at all.

In Germany the "Galeria Kaufhof" chain of department stores seems to have all the Clone Wars sets.
Their online store makes no mention of them being exclusive, so I assume they are available in the regular brick & mortar stores. _________________ Run, run, as fast as you can... |

Tks for the info Gingerbeard Man Its a relief knowing that set + droid gunship are available now in retail. Now I wonder in what shop in France I will be able to get those.

The hardest thing is to figure out which brick-and-mortar stores, be it US of A or elsewhere, to find what sets in and when.
So far I know that Toys R Us has:
1. Separatist Spider Droid
2. Twilight
The general release items are:
1. At-Te Walket
2. Republic Attack Gunship
3. V-19 Torrent
4. Magnaguard Starfighter
So which stores (to clarify) can I find:
1. Droid Gunship
2. Republic Fighter Tank
I'm not exactly able to get out all the time so a little help would be fine limiting where I must travel. Online I understand the LEGO.Com site has everything, but I like to heft the boxes before I buy occasionally.
Thank ye for the assistance.

Droid Gunship was @ TRU and Wal-Mart. in the US.

Personally I refuse to waste money at Toys R Us. Then they further insult the consumer by being the only retailer who doesn't price match local competitors!
Has anyone else noticed that all of the sets are $5 - $10 over MSRP?
I'll just visit the LEGO Store 20 miles from my house (passing 3 TRU along the drive), sure spend a little in gas but I save on the prices & get the loyalty stamps to boot. Besides it's always an experience going to the store (especially when you're a regular). |

Did you see them at either of these stores? They were not at any here, and LEGO stores don't count as there are none here, and it would be easier to get them from LS@H. I have heard other reports that both the Droid Gunship and the Republic Tank are Target only, so you see my confusion. _________________

Yep they are but I don't like buying online, I much prefer the physical contact with aisles of Lego and what have you
Its fun to read your rants about TRU prices because in France its the cheapest oy store where you can buy Lego I mean I just bought the RGS at 99.99€ (I got 10€ off due to coupons).

Okay, after a bit of net and leg work I have found that the Droid Gunship is available currently from Wal-Mart stores in the USA for $29.98 or so. The Republic Tank is going to be available from Target stores (sorry Canada) for an unconfirmed price around +/- $49. _________________

Ugh, the Tank just has to be like the Ultimate Space Battle set. Well looks like I will have to burn down all the Target stores then. _________________

So let me get this right. This item is availble in Europe and Austrailia right now. Check! It will be available as an exclusive in the USA (Target). Check! Canada, bend over! Check?
So most will get a shot at this, except for us Canucks.
Fantastic! I love it when companies tell me my money is no good to them. _________________ Talk Nerdie to me...

Just noticed this on Brickset, for whatever it's worth:
Quote: |
Anyone worried about the fact that 7679 Republic Fighter Tank is currently unavailable in the U.S., rest assured, you will be able to complete your Clone Wars collection, just not anytime soon. Apparently, in tandem with a LEGO S@H release, it will be a Target exclusive later in the year (usually October), along with Agents 8636 Mission 7: Deep Sea Quest, and BIONICLE 8942 Jetrax T6, in a special supercharged yellow version. More than likely, City 4210 Coast Guard Platform will be released via this outlet in the U.S. as well, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. Of course, if you are a U.K. consumer, all of these sets are already available to you, barring the yellow 8942. |

Well we do use Canadian money...and it is an American company. Maybe they are still angry about that whole dollar thing _________________
