A thought of a game like this has ran through my mind countless of times, constantly making me wish that such a game existed or was atleast in development. Now, I'm not sure how many of you have and have played Star Wars: Empire at War, but it is an extrordinary game that is a little similar to the concept of Battlefront. If you do not already own this game, I do suggest you purchase if still possible along with the expansion pack.

Now, onto the main topic. I've really wondered why LucasArts have never stumbled upon the idea of RAW. It be farely simple to designate space and ground forces, along with heroes and command ships.

So, if you have any thoughts, no matter how ridiculous, post them here. Who do you think would be perfect for the role of hero for each faction? What type of fighters would you make accessible to players? And what type of planetary battles must take place by all means neccesary.

Isn't there already a mod that does this for the game?

Mods are mods, actual games are actual games.

I'd love a game like this, a game that allows you to play all the battles of the Clone Wars, perhaps also some other conflicts.
However, I've been thinking that the game shouldn't be just EaW turned straight to Republic era; instead of one campaigne, there should be several, each following a Clone Commander and a Jedi General on their trail of combat during the war. That'd allow more solid storyline(s), correctly-coloured troops and right vehicles on each campagne, plus there could be myriad of different units. A fanboy's dream, sort of. Most likely not going to happen, but one can always dream..

No. Just no.

I got EaW for 20 and thought I'd made a good purchase (what with all the good talk about it on here and other sites), but getting it, it seemed it lacked something. I remember reading in a preview where it said there were multiple ways to do battles. To me, it seemed you could either go and attack full blase, or go one at a time. Either way, it didn't work.

Maybe I was just playing it wrong - any help? Wink

Although I think a Republic commanding game would be good, EaW style may be a bad choice.

I'd like a Republic at War game but it had better be better than EaW. EaW got boring pretty quick, I mean, there was only so much you could do. And, once I'd starting winning anything without trying, it just got old.

Plus, EaW messed up my computer. Wink

Granted the game can become boring at times, its still fun to be able to amass an fleet that you never really see in the the Star Wars saga (if you exclude the opening to ROTS)

I wish the LucasArts would have started with RAW, and then move to EAW.

If one was released, it'd be out of order.

And Firespray, what mod are you speaking of? Because I for one would like to download it. Wouldn't mind having a few Invisible Hands if they are available.

I have both eaw. And I would love to see a republic at war type of game. And like the foc expansion, I would also like to see a similar thing.

That's true for most RPGs I know of.
(Not saying it's a bad thing.)

I believe that the mod he is talking about is Imperial Assault (or something like that.

You know, If it gets boring, you can always test your skills online.

I would go rob victoria's secret to get that game. Hopefully I don't have to if it's ever made. Then again... Wink

Well they do have the old game of Galactic Battlegrounds in which you can play as many different factions. But I don't think the Republic is included, but you can play as the droids, the gunguns and even the wookies. However, I dont own the game so Im not entirely sure.

There was an Expansion Pack for Galactic Battlegrounds called Clone Campains, that had the Republic and the CIS added.

I had the base game and while it was OK, it was quite weak and the story made no sense. The best bits had to be playing as the minor races, like Wookies.

It, however, is nothing like Empire at War. EaW is based a lot more on quick gameplay.

Well, I took a look at Imperial Assault, and it looks like a very solid game, similar to EAW w/ mixing in some EU characters and ships. Are new planets included w/ the mod as well?

Sorry for a double post on my own thread, but I was wondering if anyone knew where I can download Imperial Assault. The site doesn't have it up at the moment and I'd really like to get it.

Nowhere, yet. From the front page of the IA site:

Well, isn't the entire SW movie series out of order? Wink

It's called a prequel...
