Yeah, I really like Rex from the AT-TE and I really like Cody from the RGS...which do I chose...which do I chose. I guess I'd have more money left if I bought the AT-TE so I'd have two colored Clones and four regular clones. Eh...it's a very hard decision, but I guess I'll figure it out.

Well as you are obviously going... Wink

Go with what you want more. I wouldn't have the HSD at the top of my list, but eahc person needs to make his own decision (in other words, the second one).

Well i went to woolies today and picked up a Magna guard starfighter. The cockpit has a really cool opening method and the minifigs look sweet.

If you have any questions about it please feel free to post them

Can you post any pics? I'd love to see some really in depth ones.

Otherwise, cool pick up.

Yes, this set is one that I quite like the look of. I hope it has a solid build. Large Lego sets that break often are always disappointing. Neutral

I got the Republic Attack Gunship, for 80, its brilliant. If anyone needs any CW sets and lives in the North-East of England, be sure to check out Gateshead Metrocenter's Woolworths, they have a few Droid Gunship & V-19's, wwo AT-TE's and one RAG.

Ok, how come the Droid Gunships are being released now, and not in October?

Unfortunately i can't post pictures because i can't go onto any file sharing sites because of the stupid web blocker. But anyways as for the other question it is a solid build, apart from the 2 side pieces that are supposed to lift up to reveal the electrostaffs. Which will fall off if you dont hold the end of it while lifting.

EDIT: Thats weird. They didn't have any AT-TE's at my Woolies

Well in the case...I guess the 2nd option. The pics of the new AT-TE I've seen haven't looked very good. Then again, the gunship probably isn't as good as the original either.

After checking out the commercials, all the pics and instructions, I concur with the former. The AT-TE doesn't look as good as the older version, something is off, can't quite put my finger on it, but the 4482 looks better.

However, the RGS looks great. It is longer thus making it more accurate and appears to look much more like the RGS in the movies, despite the bubble turrets missing.

Question: Why lose the turrets? Are they that hard to animate? It doesn't make sense from a continuation perspective. In AOTC, we see RGS' with bubbles and also in every shot of the RGS in ROTS.

Two more gripes with Clone Wars Vs. Original Saga.

Firstly, The Delta-7 Jedi SF in the Clone Wars have the Astromech's in the middle of the ship. While in Ep2&3, the droids are truncated, integrated and off to the side. (When we see the Delta-7 JediSF in the Order 66 sequence, it is clearly off to the left.)

Second, the P-38 Utapaun Starfighter now appears to be a MagnaDroid Fighter? OR SO WE ARE LED TO BELIEVE BY THE LEGO COMPANY. I may be jumping the gun, but IF in the Clone Wars movie the P-38 is in fact a Separatist craft and not a ship utilized by the Utapauns when helping the Clone forces fight off their occupiers then Lucas should not have allowed a book to be published with full spec of the craft (in the Star Wars: Complete cross sections book) and the databank info on SW.com should be changed.

Being a writer and a storyteller, I am a stickler for continuation problems. I hope that the first two plotholes (RGS turrets, Droids in Delta-7's) are explained somewhere along the way, and I just guess that the last one (MagnaGaurd or Utapaun P-38 fighter) is a Lego company mistake. Like having Lobot flying in a Cloud Car instead of two CC Gaurds or a Shadowtrooper piloting a dropship instead of an Imperial Pilot.

Oh yeah, the rest of the western world appears to be very lucky. It will probably be halfway through August before these new sets make it all the way out to our former penal colony.

If the geography of the earth were compared to the SW galaxy, sometimes it feels like Australia would be in the Outer Rim Territories. Rolling Eyes

In the trailer we see that these appear to be new high-altitude RGSs. You'll also notice that the side doors now close completely.

You see Magna Guards flying the fighter in the trailer.

I also disagree about the new AT-TE. The new one looks better than the old one.

Maybe their respecting the street date just for that one set.

Sandtrooper Plantoon:

The droids are in the centre because that's how Ankin modifys hid starfighter. Most JS have the atromech on the side, but Anakin prefers it in the middle (I assume).

As for your rant about wrong figs in sets, thats purely from a sales point of view - the Cloud Car wouldn't have sold as well if there was a generic character and the Shadow Troopers inclusion in the BP means people will buy it in some cases just for them. It's all for sales.

Its great except the front stickers (Monkey/Twilek) I might try and get the old RGS stickers for this because there is no way I am putting either of these on.

On a sadder note, the printed Republic round tile has died, it has been replaced by a sticker of its former self.

I never really cared about the sticker problem too much but i have to say lego is making a serious mistake and is taking it way to far. Sad

I despise stickers, but despite this, I feel the new AT-TE looks far less "lunky" than the old one. The RGS is a great improvement as well. So REX, are the Magnaguards in the set cool? Are they better than what most people think?

I agree. But at the moment I am looking for a way to add those side bubbles to the RGS to make it appear more like it did in the films.

Same here. If i can put on those two side bubbles then that would make it perfect.

Yes they are. In case you were wondering the head piece is made of plastic (if you thought it was made of rubber) and the hands rotate 360 degrees so they can spin their electrostaffs just like the movie Very Happy . The capes are new and have a hole in them to make them look battle-damaged (Note: i got chocolate on one of the capes and had to wash it off with water. Now it's too flexible!). Although i think i got the wrong peice for the staff because it seems too short. As for your last question i don't know what most people think please tell me.

I'll make sure not to get chocolate on them if I get them. Laughing

IMHO, the Magna guards like like a MegaBlok knock-off, I don't like them. They're actually what's putting me off from buying the set.

Yeah that's what I thought at first, but with figs, I find you usually can't appreciate them until you have one right in front of you. I'm probably just going to bricklink one.

Here's a comparison shot from a 7676 review at Eurobricks (warning: large picture):

Looks pretty much better to me; better shape, better structure, better colouring and neater functions.

Dream on. Razz

The new one does look better. The first one was an amazing sey for it's time, but this update gives it the curves of the film.

Yeah the new one looks much better than the original in my opinion. It has more curves and the has a lot more functions over the original, I especially like the bacta tank. Smile
