Yhea, it can support most Languages. Just be sure the Firmware is Up to Date.

PS. Don't leave your crap in your Locker. It' like saying HAY DOODZ COME ROB ME.

PSS. It's iPod, not I-Pod.

We have problems with stuff getting stolen from the lockers in gym as well, which is why I don't bring anything of value to school anymore.

If you want an iPod, may I make a suggestion? For just $50 more, you can get a regular iPod, and can store 5 times more music on it... a much better purchase in the long run.

or.. you could go to the darkside for a Dell DJ. they can hold more songs than an iPod but there are some problems.

1) they look odd
2)they have the weirdest software for downloading (u could just use iTunes, and easy fix)
3)they aren't an external hard drive.

other than that they (Dell DJ) are good.

there is a problem with the iPod:
18 month battery life (nonreplacable) on the new iPods. (a NEWYORK TIMES article said so)

otherwise i would go for the iPod. Most of my friends have one and there is no problem with it.

There are a number of reasons to pick an iPod Mini over a standard, if those reasons are important to you:

o iPod Mini is smaller & lighter
o iPod Mini is cheaper
o iPod Mini is available in a range of colors
o and simply the fact that it's not a standard iPod

I bought myself a 4th Gen iPod just before Christmas. I went for the 20GB version.

"Why ?" I hear you ask. "Surely the 40GB version is much better ?"

Good question, especially as I have around 30 GB of music on my PC (all ripped by me from CDs and albums I own or bought from iTMS or MyCokeMusic, I might add).

Was it the extra cost ? No.

It was simply the fact that the 20GB is slightly thinner & slightly lighter than the 40GB. I have no interest in copying all my music onto the thing; I'm happy to create playlists & let iTunes just copy over the tracks I want to listen to. The size & weight of the device was more important to me than the size of the disk - that's what was important to me. I could have probably gone with the mini, but I personally prefer the look of the standard iPod & provided me with some extra portable data storage.

Ian.

You can send it to Apple and they'll replace it for a fee.

If we're suggesting other MP3 players, though, then I've had my eye on the iRiver H320. 16 hour battery life, built-in FM radio tuner, color display, picture viewing, and the ability to transfer music from player to player or pictures from camera to player. Plus, you don't need software to transfer the music, just plug it in via USB and you computer recognizes it as an external hard drive... drag 'n' drop. It's everything the iPod isn't. Smile

Get an MP3 CD player, IMO.

Cheaper, i got mine for 35 bucks (sony Walkman)
You can put like, 11 albums on 1 CD. which I belive will cut down storage space in a CD binder.

It reads the CDs quickly (VERY).

oh, did I mention battery life? 85 hours on 2 AA batteries. Doesnt skip, and has good volume.

The Cd players? Not really. Mine is the size of a CD (across) but with a centimeter extra, and its width is like, 1/4 of an inch.

I DO want an MP3 player, but I need good storage (40GB+) and battery life (at least 20 hours+ with rechargable battery) and cheap. Im not shelling out 500 bucks for one.

I had a MP3 CD player, but it's MUCH larger than an iPod (and I have the larger non-mini one.) I can't ever see going back to a CD player. Also, a number of the cheaper MP3 CD players I've seen have major issues: locking up, don't support VBR (variable bit rate), some won't scan very well, if at all, etc.

The mini iPod isn't that mini. I was expecting something quite a bit smaller than the actual iPod (quite a bit, not somewhat). Meh, you get the fruity colors and everything, but if you want the iPod, go for the standard version.

"I was expecting something quite a bit smaller than the actual iPod"

iPod Mini = 3.6" x 2.0" x 0.5", 3.6oz (= 3.6 cubic inches)
20GB iPod = 4.1" x 2.4" x 0.57", 5.6oz
40GB iPod = 4.1" x 2.4" x 0.69", 6.2oz (= 6.8 cubic inches)

So the 40GB iPod has 89% greater volume & is 72% heavier than an iPod mini.

Seems like quite a difference to me ... Razz

Doesn't seem as big a difference in real life. Look, the Mini is just a half inch smaller in Length and Width, and virtually the same thickness. I was expecting flash-player sized small. That's a good size.

Norman: Size doesnt necessarily matter. Some of the better electronics are larger.

and the "Cheap Price" part was because this CD player has been out for 5 months. Marked down from 60 to 45, then they had a 10 dollar off thing with purchase of 3 CDs.

I also figure this: When would I desperatly need an Ipod? if I just load all my music on my computer, then ont my iPod, then...what do I do with the cds? Keep em, sell em? So, In the long run, I actually think the MP3 cd player would be better, because in one 48 CD binder (which is really small) you could, technically, hold 5 iPods worth of music (assuming all or the lion share are MP3 CDs)

If CreativeZen/labs (whatever it is...) drops its price of their MP3 player, i will get that.

You gotta be fragging kidding me. A 250 GB HD is like 200 Dollars, and seeing as how most systems are around 300-400 Dollars when they come out, that would be way to expensive to Make or Buy.

A PS3? Of course! Because when I think of a portable music player, I think console.

Personally, I like to take my XBox full of music wherever I go. People look at me funny, but by golly, it's better than just an MP3 player because it plays games too!

What the heck?

Okay... let me trace this back:

1) Greedo needs a new portable MP3 player
2) solutions and insight are provided
3) you post that he should wait for PS3 to come out
4) PS3 can hold music.
5) Hook up PS3 to stereo
6) because you will not use your iPod when you are out of the house.
7) solves the portability problem.

What the heck?

Dude, I'm totally getting a PS3, but whaaaaa?

I had to share my knowlage of PS3 Sad Well if you were me you would understand the post... Well it gose like this, I was gonna save up for a Ipod then after I was talking to padawan on msn he gave me some knowlage about Hard drives and how they are mechanical and where down, and after researching stuff on PS3 I thought that I would wait for that. Because the main reason for me was to listen to music in my room without all my siblings telling to me to turn that racat down and, its myyy turn on the computer....... And yes the PS3 IS supposed to have a huge memory capacity and there is gonna be 2 versions of PS3. One that only runs games, and one that has teh hole sha-bang. Like DVD player, music player, hard drive, which you can store your ps3 game data and MP3's.. SO yeah I admit my post was kinda off topic, it was more like me saying to my self, O yeah, I remember when I was gonna et an Ipod but then I figured out they are 2 expensive, better wait for ps3 to listen to music in my room Confused

There's no way Sony would have a Hard Drive-Based Play Station, because it would allow people to Pirate Games more Easily. That's the Reason why you couldn't just plug your XBox into your Network and access it as a seperate Drive. Knowing Sony, they would sell a PLUGStation Connector, then charge you extra for the MEDIAStation Software, and it could only play some obscure Media Format that Sony Created.

But I'm getting way off topic here.

Says you. I have real-world experience with both & to me there is a genuine difference. If you want "flash-player small" then that's what the iPod Shuffle is for - lets be realistic with our comparisons, shall we ? Sheesh.

Sony has made it apparent that two versions of the PS3 should be available to the public to fit certain needs and criterias. The typical PS3 would be what you call a “bare bones” version with out all the added functionality and media capabilities. So those who just want to play games and nothing more at and affordable price could get their wish. As for the techies a version resembling that of the PSX is also likely to be available, with a higher price of course.

I rest my case

Oh and it will be allmost impossible to burn games because sony is using blue-laser technology
