It's only one day until you can START submitting. There is still 11 days until the contest will be "over". _________________

Idk, Bohman, it's a very nice and creative design and all, but the assignment was to build an iconic vehicle. You can tell it's a podracer alright, but it could be any pod! And are those rubber-like things covering up the engines even Lego? Also, you posted your entry about 6 hrs too early.
Well, however, it's looking very good and I hope you don't get disqualified!

It is an iconic pod. It's the one the Sand people blew up in lap two. _________________

When luke gets his hand chopped off he gets a new hand. When abe gets his hand chopped off he gets a gattling gun.
Yea, that probably beats Star Wars in my mind. _________________

This contest has generated so many great MOC's, I applaud all of the participants for their talent and skill. Sadly, I am having second thoughts about my own meager offering. I my end up making something else. It has truly been educational seeing what can be done with LEGO.
Good luck and may the best MOC win.

This contest has gotten me interested in this steampunk stuff, I will definitely build more Steam projects from here on out.
As to all you competitors, you're scaring me, stop building so well, I don't have the resources to take you all head on. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/servant-saber/ |

Ahh, a fellow low-resource builder!
THe competion is pretty tough. I doubt my Clipper can take on a lot of the competition. _________________ Raptor Fun Fact #73- The raptor's natural enemy is the gas-powered internal combustion off-road vehicle, which is made of evil.

Impulse sets for prizes, hmm, better get cracking on my steam mini, or, perhaps not, the only mini I ever made was an 8 stud Santa Fe train.
-----On Topic-----
I'm really liking your models everyone, keep up the good work.
Rocko's Tie Fighter is still my favorite though. So try harder
Edit--
Veers, if your clipper is any indication of your collection size
my college collection must be kingly by comparison. I wish you the best of luck. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/servant-saber/ |

Perhaps Linus doesn't live in the US. Perhaps your "6 hours early" is his "2 or 3 hours after submissions were opened." Perhaps...

Bohman's entry fits well within the rules. Podracers are iconic enough and the classification allow for such variation. I knew before hand he might have trouble posting it after the 20th and he managed to get it in as close as possible.
Thank you everyone who's entered so far and I look forward to the rest of the entries! |

The best part about this contest is seeing how diffirently everyone approaches the Steampunk Concept, some models are covered in tubes, gears, bits, some are varied in color, others reflect an older Studs up lego Construction, others too much snot to wipe with a handkerchief. This is too me a fun and rewarding contest, even just taking part. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/servant-saber/ |

Wow, things are getting intense in the competition. Makes me feel like I need to make a massive Bricklink order and improve my entry. Out of all the MOC's so far, my favorite has got to be Rocket Season's speeder bike. So small, yet so creative. He dared to make a small vessel instead of a giant extravagent vehicle, and the design looks great. Also, monsterbrick's AT-AT seems to be looking better every time I glance at it... the raw bulk..the gears on the legs. In fact, everyone's MOCs look good so far, not perfect, but good. I'm excited to see more entries. After all, things are really shaping up.

Yep, it is epic.
I just wanted to say something.... There are some great builds and builders entering the contest, but for me the old adage still stands -
" It's not the winning, it is the taking part".
I encourage everybody who has had a crack at making something for the contest to enter, I love to see all this LEGO building, be it by a ten year old or a master builder or a thirty something who builds like he was seven years old (like me), get those entries in! it's all part of the fun!

Any possible way I could get an extension? I took pictures and my entry is finished, I'm just stuck on uploading the pictures to my computer. We just purchased a new computer, and it doesn't have any software installed on it yet. And my mum doesn't want me putting LEGO pictures on it either. _________________ Ded. D-e-d |

I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but we're not going to be able to extend any extensions on this one. We'll have a lot of things to get through, and there are some other factors behind this as well.
My recommendation would be to get what pictures you can', pick the best, and get them posted. _________________ Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe. - Albert Einstein |

In that case, I'll try to get my entry done by tomorrow. It's still half-way done, ..unfortunately I had (and still have) all my exams from 21-31st , worst timing ever. I'm still posting my MOC even if I don't succeed in finishing it before the deadline. _________________

I can't help but notice the popularity of the Landspeeder as a subject. It's interesting to see the different interpretations. Luckily there is still plenty of variety in the other entries so the profusion of speeders shouldn't dilute the contest too much.
