Actually I signed in to flickr and I couldn't see them either, it said this photo was unavailable to me. And just in case you don't know, flickr is now owned by yahoo, so you can sign in with your yahoo username.

Flickr has always been owned by Yahoo!.

The reason you can't see it is because for some reason the person has it set as an "unsafe" image.

I guess I can't try and sneak my Steamwing past the contest organizers and enter it in this contest as well, since it was listed in the first post. Very Happy

Oh well, I used up all my steampunk X-Wing mojo on that creation. Good luck everybody!

What a coincidence! I've had a steam wars ship built for a while now! Hope it's good enough...

See the thing about steampunk is that crap is steam-powered, not fueled by a combustion engine. So flames on an exhaust pipe would really be quite silly.

I hope you ship to Singapore, just (and a big just there) in case I win! Wink

Anyhow though, I doubt I'll be taking part. Steampunk is a very alien genre to me.

Ok, I'm in. This sounds cool! I've never even attempted to build in steampunk before, but...
A. There is a first time for everything.
B. Those prizes are wicked cool.

The Rules:
•Stick to core vehicles... the icons people will know. Don't get too obscure or it loses it's effect. People should be able to recognize what it's based on, but you need to have a source image to compare it to anyways. Use your gut here because we don't want every person asking "is this ok, is that ok..." You'll know if it fits and if you doubt it, use something else.
•Make it minifig scale, a new and original design, and only use official elements. No existing MOCs, rehashes of something you've seen but with brown parts instead of gray, and no custom stickers or modified parts please. Those are pretty standard contest rules.
    •That's it! Simple!

See the thing about steampunk is that crap is steam-powered, not fueled by a combustion engine. So flames on an exhaust pipe would really be quite silly.

That's my main problem in making a steampunk podracer... it needs to look like a podracer yet be steam-powered. I'm still refining it to actually look steam-powered yet retain its podracer-ness. I'll figure something out.

Hmmm...interesting, I actually chose not to do a Podracer because it would have been too easy to make (in my mind).

So, can I use a set as the structure and then build all around it? So I'd redesign the 'shell' (not like GV's AT-AT, I'm not gonna tack stuff on. No offense by the way, Veers).

Xeta in Veers' thread wrote:
Yeah. Don't modify sets ... create new ones.

I guess that's the proper way of saying it.

If we can't post them until the 20th, then how come people are posting in the MOC forum. Are we allowed to in there, but just not in this thread.

Also, in your MOC thread, please don't waste the title pointing out it's a contest entry. Looking back through the Star Wars MOC subforum it gets redundant. I did it too for the ugly contest, so don't feel too bad anyone...

Is it just me or are half of the people posting in this thread even reading the rules before posting? Come on people, if you're 12 years old you can read and speak English here.

Henceforth, any member with dumb questions clearly resulting from not reading the rules will be excluded from the contest.

Ok, I don't have control over that but please, people... Wink
