I'm typing this with my new Master Replicas 212th clone helmet on. It is awesome, I'm so glad that my parents let me have it before Christmas. Does anyone else here have any MR helmets?I

I hope you know that the MR lincense with Lucasfilm is ending this year. Also, many of the MR helmets are SOLD OUT and or backordered. So if you really plan on getting one, you should order soon before they're gone.

You know, I was half a thought from asking "The full size one?" Laughing

Those are great and all, but how much did it cost? Have any pics of it?

I was fortunate to find the helmet on eBay at about $200 including shipping. The helmet, when it was still available on the Master Replicas website was $400 plus the shipping cost. I was pretty happy with the price. This does count as part of my Christmas and birthday present though. The helmet is awesome and I don't think the pictures I took do it justice. It is so shiny and clean. Also, the helmet may look large, but that is because I really don't have broad shoulders at all and the fact that I'm not wearing armor. I did a proportion between my height and the helmet's height compared to the the height of a clone action figure and his helmet and it was almost exactly equal. Anyway:

Me in the helmet. I've been walking around town a little with this on, it is fun. I decided not to go in 7-11 with it on because I thought they might think I was attempting a robbery.

Woot man, $200? I'd break for that! Great X-mas present for the price.

I wouldn't mind a 501st version... or a trio of pure while clone, clorme, and storm trooper buckets if I could get a deal like that.

It looks amazing.
And you walked through town with the helmet on? Cool!
Didn't you get very strange looks?

He he he. We are having a hat day at my school tomorrow where the students are allowed to wear their favorite "headgear". I'm definitely wearing the helmet to school. Tomorrow is going to be great. Man I'm such a geek. Oh well, I'm proud.

Sorry to disappoint everyone, but the school wouldn't let me wear it because it covered my face. It was so disappointing but I had a feeling I might not be able to wear it. Oh well, I 'll get pictures and video of me walking around town sometime.

I just purchased a Master Replicas stormtrooper helmet off of ebay. I cannot wait to get it in the mail. This one is not the LE fiberglass one, this is the still screen-accurate, cheaper, "trooping" version. I hope to have pictures of it soon. Now all I need is a set of armor and to be 18 so I can join the 501st.

That was quick. It costs me $112. So, again I really got a deal off of ebay, but like I said, it isn't the fiberglass one.

Awesome man, you'll have to take some review shots for me. I didn't know MR did non fiberglass ones for cheaper.

I will take pictures just like I did with the last one. I'll try to make them look nicer. From what I've heard, the non fiberglass helmets were a UK exclusive.

UPDATE

The helmet came in the mail today earlier than expected, but I'm not complaining. Like I stated earlier, the helmet is not quite as high quality as the limited edition helmets. I don't have any pictures yet; they will come soon. I will give a short review though.

The Good

-The helmet is made of ABS, a good material for a trooping helmet due to its low weight and durability
-Because MR used the actual props as a base for the helmet, the shape is nearly dead on to the stunt version
-The decals are high quality and the mic tips are metal mesh
-The glossy ABS looks as shiny as my Fiberglass helmet (shown above)
-Because this helmet is pretty much made for trooping, I have no problem modifying it. I wouldn't think of doing anything to my LE clone helmet.

The Bad

-The lenses are a light green. They are nowhere close to the quality of the LE helmet.
-Since the helmet isn't fiberglass there are seams. Most are not visible. There is a pretty thick seam but it can only be viewed when looking down at the helmet.
-The mesh in the frown could have been higher quality.

Fortunately these flaws can be easily eliminated. The lenses can be easily taken out and replaced. The mesh can be replaced and the seam can be filled. I may just leave the seam because, like I said, it can only be viewed by a certain angle.

Here is a comparison shot. I will have more later. The flash on the camera really shows the green lenses. They aren't really that bad in real life, but I still want to replace them.

Might be good to chime in about the future of MR props, the product line has been handed over to a new company called EFX, which will be re-releasing many of their things. So basically don't go crazy spending way over retail for anything just yet.

I'm looking for a Boba too juns. Oh yeah, I found one. Not MR, but A studio called Bobamaker makes some nice qaulity helmets. And I also found a really cool studio that makes tons of different props.

Heres the links.

Bobamaker

StarFortress Productions

I wouldn't mind getting one of SFP's Clone helmets but I have to focus on my Boba Fett costume.

Looking on the Bobamaker site that Karil posted, I noticed that there are replacement lenses for Stormie helmets. Maybe you should check it out. Here y' go. Very Happy

Scorch, I don't suppose you could provide a pic of what the inside of the helmet looks like could you? Question

Ok, I finally have the picturs of the helmet with my new lenses.

For The Master: I do have a picture of the inside but it is the current picture. I plan on adding a hard hat liner in there so that it fits on my head securely.

Sweet pics. Are you going to make a full set of Storm Trooper armour?

I'm going to get a Fan made Mandolorian helmet kit from a guy over on The Dented Helmet. At the moment I'm working a blaster pistol for my Mandolorian costume.
