Well, is it software or a chip integrated into the mother board? I would sooner get a sound card then have an integrated chip. But that's just my personal preferences getting in the way of everything again. Wink

To find the drivers, if it's the motherboard, go to whoever makes the motherboards website. Other then that I have no idea. Surprised

On that note, I have a problem. My computer will run a game fine then shut it back to the desktop after about 15-20 minutes. I've looked on the game websites but anything they suggest hasn't helped. It's got a 5700 Nvidia graphics card with the latest drivers. I think it's got 128 MB of memory. The comps got over a gig of RAM too. Games I try to play are Battle Field 2, Battle Front 2 and Empire at war. Any suggestions?

5700? It might be the graphics card, not enough power to support those games.

Like I said, it might, all I'm really basing this on is that Nvidia's new cards are in the 9000s and I myself just barely updated my 6200 to a 7800.

Alright guys, I have a spyware problem on my computer. Unfortunately, when my brother installed the new ATT Yahoo internet, he didn't install the security. Also, going on two years with an expired Norton membership, I guess this was going to happen eventually even though I don't usually download things. Well, I have a virus that's a "fake" program called XP Security Center. I did some research, and was able to fix some administrative problems through the "run" setting under the start menu (I have XP Home Edition). Basically, the virus changed my ctrl+alt+delete so I couldn't get my task manager open, and stop the program. Now that's fixed...thankfully. But I wasn't sure about how to do a proper removal...an easier way was needed because I know the program is hidden to some degree. For some reason, the program blocked my Spybot Search and Destroy program, which I use to kill spyware and malware, and I now need some help. Also, I tried a system restore, but that was also not working because of the "rouge program". Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks guys.

There are none for 8400 GT, but there is for 8400 and 8400 GS, so I might just download it.

Big Ben, I'm not sure but I think you should be able to just find all the programs files and delete them. Or go and get a new Security program. I would recommend AVG. It's what I have on my lap top and works really good. Though I do believe AVG is really expensive. Confused

Karil, buddy, stop. Razz AVG has a free client. That means it costs nothing. Just to be clear, nothing is the opposite of expensive.

Ben, if you've already identified the malware, head to the web and find a removal guide. If it's a common virus, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one.

It's probably a good idea for you to use another, uninfected machine if possible and to leave your infected machine turned off until you're ready to begin removal.

Installing an antivirus now won't necessarily solve your existing problems, but once everything else is cleared up I'd also recommend installing AVG Antivirus' free client.

Okay, I've got a question. I'm not too savvy with iPods, so bear with me. So I got a 3rd gen nano on Sunday, and I downloaded my first songs yesterday. However, I would like to know; Is there any way to take songs off of the iPod? When downloading, I selected 'recent downloads', but for some reason, it downloaded some sample iTunes songs from, like, a year ago. Mad Advice would be much appreciated.

Just select the song on the iPod while in iTunes and press Delete?

And I'd suggest you take all the sync-ing settings off, unless you want all the music on your computer on it (even then it's easier manual).

Mm, I took my sync settings off before I downloaded anything.

Okay, I'll have to try that. I already deleted it off of iTunes, it was so bad. Laughing Thanks for the help, Fetty and Firespray. Very Happy

I want to buy things from another country off BrickLink (Arealight Very Happy ) but I have never used PayPal before. I can use a Debit Card, Cheque or Cash on it but nothing else. So, what details have to be given to PP and what details get sent the the seller when I use PayPal?

Thanks,
James.

I have a question about Portal,
I tried installing it on my computer (one without internet access) but I couldn't because Steam couldn't access it's library.
I got this error message
Quote:
Steam.exe (main exception): Unable to load Library Steam.dll

You need to have Internet access. To lauch Portal, you need Steam and to do that, you need to download it. Once it's downloaded, you can access it offline.

On the back of the box, in small text it should say something like that.

Unfortunately, Valve neglected to put that on the case when buying portal separately.

I think the boxed games are intended to be installed sans internet, it looks like it didn't load a file of the disk correctly. What windows version do you have?

Ah. Best thing to try in cases like this is Google the error message. From browsing around I can tall you it's not a rare problem, and seems to be something to do with the Peerguardian program in Vista.

Okay, I tried googling it. The only solutions I could really find are to uninstall steam, and then re-install it. *EDIT* It has worked as well as simply swearing at the computer.
And Don, where do I find the Peerguardian feature? I ran a search bu it didn't turn anything up.

So I don't know if anyone here uses a capture card, but I'll ask anyway Razz So I just got my Dazzle Platinum for putting videos from my Wii, onto YouTube. So after I capture the video, I put it into Windows Movie Maker to edit it, puts songs in it etc. So then I save it to my computer, and then upload it to YouTube. The upload works, but the something happens to the video.

When the video is in Windows Movie Maker, it is 8 minutes long, then when I upload it to YouTube, it become 5 and a half minutes long, with a 3 minutes blank space at the end, but there don't seem to be any changes in the video, they are the same, but something gets changed when it is upload it. The only change is the 3 minutes blank space and the video all of a sudden becomes 3 minutes shorter (not counting the space).

I don't know if I can post the video, because someone might consider it advertisment in the wrong place, but if it would help with solving this, could a Mod allow me to post it?

Thanks to those who help Wink

YouTube might limit how long videos can be when you upload them, unless you have one of those pay accounts.

No, thats not it, because the limit is under 11 minutes, and the video was 8 when uploaded, and is still 8 minutes.

Does it limit file size, or file format?

Pretty sure it does, it converts the movie into FLV format.

From what I understand a you tube video has to be under 10 minutes long. But it can also only be a certain size (can't remeber what exact size) . So instead of crushing the quality, you tube must cut the running time down.

So cutting the quality yourself will work.

OK, I got my new cellphone, and on the subject of ringtones, the clerk said I could choose 30 seconds of a song and e-mail it to my phone. He said that about 4 times and then expected me to know how it worked. Heh, No. Help?

Is it possible to save a frame from a video as picture (jpg, bmp or such)?
I have a self-filmed video clip from which i would like to isolate one frame as picture. Screenshot does not work.
