I Didn't know if we had a thread for this already, but if you found one and are going to keep it (because you should) then post here. If there is already a thread like this please link to it for me as I didn't see one already, here or in the b/s/t/f forum section...
oh yeah, I have not found one yet...and please only post if you have found one. Please no:"I saw one on bricklink" or "...ebay" or :"I bought one on bricklink..." etc... lets keep it simple. The other 3PO thread I think is not that interesting. Honesty would be great as well...
UPDATED COUNT SO FAR 1/9/08 of members who have found one(The header No longer distuinguishes between US and Europe winners):
derc
dwhisper
stormtrooper16 (Europe!)
Gaia... kinda...
Morgan19 (but forget rare C-3PO I'd like to find a Mark Twain minifig!)
captainausome
cardz
MiniMitch
and the +1 is for PepaQuin who had someone give him one, lucky guy! _________________ a.k.a: Bobalego.

Sorry. That was really bad. And, by the way, I didn't see one. _________________

I, personally, do not plan on searching for one. I feel sorry for the people who going nuts for one of these, going to a lego store and practically cleaning the shelves hoping that one of the sets contains a 3P0.

I don't know if there's a difference on the chances in Canada, but so far, between myself, my 2 nephews, a friend of mine, and two friends of theirs (6 LSW fans total), we're all a combined 0 for 11. (That's a hefty .000 batting average! )
[from: 5x Naboo Fighters, 3x JSFwHDBRs, 1x AT-ST, 1x GGSF, 1x 6211 ISD (that one may have been '06 stock)]
I can see that easily being an 0 for 25 by Christmas... _________________ "...the creation, of a Greened Army of the Republic."

Canada is part of North America, i would imagine their sets come from the same production centers as the US sets...but not entire sure about that process. |

I plan to do the same thing. Not a huge deal, but if I somehow get one in one of the sets I buy, then cool. but I'mnot buying tons of sets just for the 3PO. _________________

I was told one in 250 odds of finding one in a box, which means ALOT OF LEGO before you can find one. |

Like enchantedknight56 and DestructiveDelirium, I don't plan on getting more sets just to get a golden C-3PO. If I do get one, great, but if I don't, well, I won't be upset (especially considering the odds just mentioned by Michael). _________________

I actually would have thought those odds would be even smaller _________________

The point of this thread was for people who HAVE found one to say what set and where they found it, right? |
*sound of crickets*
Hear that? Didn't think so. This thread wouldn't have any posts if that was the point!
No-one i know has been buying "extra" sets to try and get one. I think it's business as usual. Me, myself, personally ( ), i look at the 3PO similarily to the Kabaya exclusive minis or the Sith minifig pack from years ago. Sure it would be nice to have one, but i'm not gonna bust my nutz trying luck, or break my wallet on eBay. _________________ "...the creation, of a Greened Army of the Republic."

"Mandalorian Jaster" (actually his son) in the Ask Lego section claims to have found one (and then promptly broke it). Steve was quite relieved to hear that. Somehow I'll need to hear of a couple more before I believe it myself. |

But remember - not all members are active and not all in the US/Canada.
1 in 250 sounds about right. _________________

[C3PO Voice] The odds of actually getting one of these figs if you only buy one box of each set are approximently 4720 to 1 [/C3PO Voice]
And to add to what MasterFetty said, not everyone who buys lego sets is a member here. I'm assuming thats what miniMitch was talking about what he said "Each member avergae 2 set" _________________

Well let's hope they are wrong, because if TLG isn't going to put them in a $500 set, then i'll tell TLG where they can go.
PS: it's not somewhere very nice! |

::D: nice. Yeah it would be really nice if they did put them in those too. Though I'm not buying the Falcon this year, so I guess it doesn't really matter to me. _________________

Hey, uhhh... What would happen if a C-3PO was in a set that sat on the shelf till next year and nobody picked it up, then some collector who needs at least 2 of every set ever made picks it up and doesn't open the box so the resale value stays at it's peak?
Just a thought. _________________

hmm, interesting situation, I have no idea what the answer would be. I would assume though that it would be somewhat higher then the others. But there someone could always lie about that in a few years and claim that they just found it rescently. _________________

Well the real question is how would the collector know he/she actually had one if he/she kept the set misb. I know it's a hypothetical situation, but seriously how would anyone know unless they had an x-ray machine of their own. _________________
