Hi everyone,

Good to see the forums back and some familiar names posting.

To celebrate the re-emergence of the FBTB forums I present a MINI from EpIII - The Corporate Alliance Tank Droid.

Originally designed for EpII but cut from the final version the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid will be seen in action on the Wookie homeworld in EpIII.

In real life the 4x4 radar dishes are the ones found on the system AT-TE (I didn't have a dat file for this piece! Sad).

If anyone is interested in the construction here are a couple of pics of the main body of the model and the central spine over which the tank tread fits. A small technic gear is added at the front to complete the corner.

I hope you like it.

It's good to be back Smile

More models soon.

As always, a fantastic Mini-Moc. I love how you used those bulldozer chain links. I'd love to get my hands on some, but they're too expensive for my blood.

Great work, as always, and I don't think there is a .dat file for the 4x4 radar from the AT-TE. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

nice, the treads look to wide, but the pieces you use are probably the best option.

Wookiee is spelled with two 'e's.

Nice trick using the swirlie pattern radars.

I'm afraid I mostly have semi-constructive criticism.

I agree about the treads. It might be best to scrap the side ones and just have a slope or something there to get the shape right. Then you you could use a single band of the smaller treead on the center.

I think the whole thing is too big relative to the radar dishes. This might mostly be due to the large tread.

I realize you're very limited, but the parts that mount the antenna, eyes and side treads and guns are too big and blocky. They get in the way. I hate saying that without any alternate suggestions, but there you have it.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Apologies if it seems like I am draggin up an old thread but I have not been well so I have not been online. Crying or Very sad

As for the treads bein too big i think that the smaller links would be too small - the body of the droid has to be five plates thick in order to be able to have the two technic plates back to back to attach the radar dishes either side - hence the smaller tread would leave large gaps between the dishes and the main body section. If only there was a size of tread inbetween!

As for using slopes for the smaller treads, that could be tricky as the model is effectively built on it's side. The only way (as the model is built at the moment) to attach the side treads etc is to use the stud on the radar dishes as the dishes cover all the other studs.

I don't think this model was ever gonna be perfect as it was so tricky to build in the first place! Smile
