|
|
I got this idea after seeing a few recent threads and a comment by Turk...
I present an open challenge to the people of this forum to find me an R2D2 item that I have not seen.
I'm not really talking about custom pieces, but rather miscellaneous products available to the public at one time or another. This is not a contest either - I'm doing this for fun. But if you manage to impress me I'd be willing to send you a token of appreciation from my collection (You can see most of what I already have here). That item is up to my discretion and not guaranteed.
Think you can do it?
Go!
::D:
PS: I don't really care about vintage stuff... so don't expect me to get impressed by anything older than from the nineties |

Don't remember if I've seen that mug before, is it from Star Tours? It's almost familiar...
I never have won an auction for that particular bank, it's a Sigma, right?
Same for the string dispenser, which is a very high priced item.
Those ceramics were from the late 70s to early 80s I think. |

Ah, it's part of a set. Nope, never seen that one Andrew! Sigma had some weird stuff... there's a salt & pepper shaker set that goes for hundreds whenever one pops up on eBay... And I was mistaken, I have that bank. I was confused a little because you have the last two images in that post labeled backwards.
But the lunch box, I've got... |

Keep that up and you'll get nothin!
I'll look for them tonight. Your mug is pretty good... but not spectacular. I'm still waiting to find out if that last one from Antilles is what I think it is, and for a picture of the one Fetty was talking about though I think I know what it is.
I'm surprised I haven't seen many more attempts |

I know you've seen it, but do you happen to have an Artoo Pepsi cooler? There were 2 versions that i've seen, the one from Episode 1 and the one from ROTS...the ROTS one was a bit smaller in scale than the first version. We had one of the Episode 1 coolers in the comic shop i managed about a year ago.

256mb. 4,893 Yen. Something like $41. International shipping? No clue.
If your Japanese isn't up to it (mine sure isn't), there is an email link on the page and I'm sure they can set you up, assuming quantities are still available.
Good luck ordering!

This is something that was displayed in book stores when TPM hit the theaters.
http://www.oohyeahzone.com/collection/cb/cb4-lifesize.html
Scroll down to the bottom of the page for some good pictures.
I had to put one together for a display at the Barnes & Noble I was working at. They had this, a pit droid, and a battle droid, and all of them were actual size. I don't know about availability. _________________ May the Force be with you... |

The R2 Home Entertainment System:
R2-D2 gets jiggy with iPod
Tuesday January 09, 2007 Comments [2]
Always wanted your own R2-D2? This year, you can! Nikko, more famous for RC cars than fulfilling our schoolboy sci-fi dreams, are about the break out the finest Arrtoo recreation ever seen.
And he's not just a remote control recreation, he's a full blown home entertainment system, packing in a projector, DVD player, iPod connection and wireless FM transmission.
As well as pumping out tunes from your iPod, the genius addition of a projector means R2 can slap pictures on the wall or ceiling. Seeing him limbo into position for the latter is both hilarious and brilliant at the same time.
Check out our video, and then join us in the queue to lay down just under £1,300 for your own three wheeled slice of the Star Wars universe.
Check out more RC mentalism from CES here.

I'd seen that, but I didn't know about a few of the features and I hadn't seen one with all the dumb stickers on it... kinda pricey for me too |
