Wow, that stinks. One away. Ah well, next time.

I shared this with Austin in a PM earlier...

I think next time that the nominations phase should begin only after a minimum of three to seven days where potential candidates can introduce themselves first.

I was away in California on a Spring Break and three days had passed by the time I offered myself for candidacy. Most nominations had already been passed out. Those of us who entered the election late were kinda out of luck because the forum regulars (where 90% of the votes come from in the first three days and those who actually care) had already given up their nominations.

So my humble suggestion: next year, add a phase 0.5 where candidates can introduce themselves in a short post prior to the nominations phase beginning. Then, once the nominations phase has began, everyone who wanted in will have had a shot instead of being a victim of tardiness.

Please don't take these comments as my crying foul. I am not sad or upset at all, just offering a suggestion to make next year even more available to people. Plus, if I have been a regular on these forums for 7+ plus years, why not make it 8+ and I run again next year? Smile

Good luck to the candidates, you guys picked some good guys!

One thing I noticed is that people gave both of their nominations to one person, which wasn't allowed. Then, they never gave their second to anybody.

So I guess I'm not in. I was three away. I'm a little dissapointed, but it doesn't really matter. I'd like to thank all those who nominated me. It was because of you that I almost got in. Wink

Look at the Janitorial Elections.

What bugs me even more is that half the people the double were for were already in. Rolling Eyes

It's a little late for that, this stage in the election is long over.

On that note, i'd like to nominate the 500-lb Flounder. I think it would make a great candidate, and do an amazing job as...

Jeez, yeah that's pretty low. I guess that's why they dwell on the sea-botttom. It's pretty much a dark and bone-filled wasteland down there. An occasional shopping cart or empty bottle of oil, but not much in terms of life. Mad

If you've got 38 people there, you're still in a smaller space than Manitoba. Or whatever that place is called... Wink
