Cool, Mothman!

Wonder if we'll get a Firefly, too? Maybe someone playing with fire is a little to much for game that's supposed to be for kiddies.

Really like the minifigure, looks neat.

Now all we need is the Phantasm from the Mask of the Phantasm movie, and this game will have all the really cool supervillians.

Neither do I, but it's a LEGO game.

I'm not a huge fan of Batman or the Lego line, but I'm still going to get the game. Because it's a Lego game and I have loved the Star Wars and Indy ones. And this one should be no different.

Yeah I'm with DestructiveDelirium, I just finished LEGO Indy and I've loved LEGO Star Wars since it came out, so I'll likely get it. I'm confident there will be plenty to enjoy in this game for both Batman fans and for players of Traveller's Tales' previous LEGO games.

I find myself strangely excited for this game. I haven't even beaten LEGO Indy yet, and I already want this.

Official LEGO Batman Video Game site:

http://www.legobatmangame.com/

I can not WAIT for this game!!!!

Go to Gametrailers and they have a new E3 2008 trailer as well as a Developer Walkthrough.

The cool thing about the Developer Walkthrough is that it's for a DEMO of the game. Wondering when that will be released.

Liked Batman's wind-up punch.

Looks like more playable charachters are coming.

Mad Hatter
Killer Moth
Man-Bat.

Makes you wonder if they'll add them to the regular Lego line up

Where does it say there's a Wayne Manor bonus level?

Also, has anyone figured out the point of finding the gray bricks in the images and being able to move the bricks around at the bottom?

I know the site says you can stack bricks, but is that for finding hidden items when stacking in a certain order?

On the website, if you click on Bruce Wayne's character profile, it mentions he can be played in the Wayne Manor Bonus Level.

I to am curious what you do with the bricks. At the moment I haven't the slightest clue.

BATGIRL! And yet, as happy as I am, I'm starting to feel like they are trying to put too many charachters in. I guess I'll have to see how this all plays out in the actual game before really condemning it.

I think this is new news...

20-minute Lego Batman cartoon in works

Quote:
Following the news that Traveller's Tales was turning its hugely lucrative Lego formula into a kids' TV show, the studio has revealed this to be a 20-minute Lego Batman cartoon using the same engine as the forthcoming game.

Speaking exclusively to GamesIndustry.biz last week at Games Convention 2008 in Leipzig, Traveller's Tales producer Rich Earl confirmed that a TV show was being produced as a spin-off from the team's latest Lego project.

"We're looking to do... a Lego Batman series. I think they're looking at doing a one-off initially," he said. "And they're basically able to utilise the assets, because our team has brought Lego characters to life."

Earl added that Traveller's Tales had no involvement in the production of the show, which is "being done by a separate studio in the States."

"My understanding is that they will use the engine, the Maya files where the characters come to life, but they'll be creating animated... I think it's a 20-minute cartoon. I'm personally quite intrigued to see how it comes out. Lego, every time they've had a new brand out, they've done some CGI stuff as well, but I think this will be quite different."

The Lego Star Wars series alone has already sold over 15 million units, with the most recent entry into the series, Lego Indiana Jones, knocking Grand Theft Auto IV off the top of the UK charts when it released in June.

Lego Batman is a departure of sorts for the studio, based on the comic book universe rather than any of the movies. With UK-based Traveller's Tales acquired by Warner Bros in late 2007, the TV project can be seen to point ahead to the way the franchise will develop under the studio's new owners.

The multi-format Lego Batman is due for release this autumn.

It sounds like the cartoon is a one shot, and not a series, is that correct?

I'd really like to see LEGO make a LEGO Batman cartoon series.

About the LEGO Batman video game website, has anybody been able to download either the Batman or Joker widgets?

Everytime I try, I get a "Page not found" error.

It is failing to work for me as well. I'm curious if they are going to get that fixed sometime in the near future. I am also beginning to wonder when the demo is supposed to come out, that is assuming they are going to have a demo at all. I'm hoping it comes sometime in the next week or so. *crosses fingers* One can only hope. Until then,

LEGO Batman dated

...and not just by LEGO Catwoman.

The caped crusader to fly onto shelves October 10th

Warner Bros Interactive has revealed to MCV that the eagerly awaited LEGO Batman: The Videogame will be released on October 10th.

The title, which studio Traveller’s Tales has already branded its ‘best LEGO game yet’, is the latest in a series of games to mix the LEGO brand with well-loved franchises, and follows the hugely successful LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Star Wars II and LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures.

LEGO Batman has already received positive previews from the press and is one of the most heavily-anticipated game releases of 2008.

“The reaction has been very positive from retailers and consumers,” Traveller’s Tales product manager Richard Earl told MCV. “This is the best LEGO game that we’ve made so far and it seems retailers and consumers agree with us.

So the release is coming up fast, and I was just going to wander out and buy it, but I noticed today that EB Games has a promo for pre-orders where you get a Lego Batman keychain.

Anyone know of other pre-order swag, or do I go ahead and get my free minifig keychain from EB?

Well, the PC demo for LEGO Indiana Jones came out before the game, but the XBox Live and Playstation Network demos just came out not to long ago, after the game had already come out.

Maybe the same will happen for LEGO Batman.

I'll be buying it when it comes out, so I'm not worried about a demo.

Well, Gamespot.com, Gamestop.com and Amazon all have the release date of Sept. 23, just 3 1/2 weeks away!

What I want to know is what their next game will be. I'm really really hoping it'll be an Indiana Jones with KOTCS included.

Personally, I can't wait to see the character creation. I hope the give some cool default lego costumes that aren't from the regular lego minifigs instead of having to mix and match different characters. I would much rather make a cool made up gotham knights character instead of making a Riddler with Joker hair and Catwoman legs. Maybe they could have a bonus Jason Todd character, too.
Also, I heard Hush is going to be in the game! Hush is going to own!

Can't believe all the characters showing up in this game.

What would be great is if all these characters were to get actual minifigs someday.

Was really disappointed with the last wave of Batman sets only have a new Batman torso and Harley Quinn being the only new villian minifig.

Anyway, plan to pick this game up from Circuit City tonight (as well as The Force Unleashed). Hopefully I can still get the $5 gift card and 4 free buttons.

EDIT: Picked up The Force Unleashed and LEGO Batman last night at CC. Got the last copy of LEGO Batman left in the store. The clerk had to dig it out of the back storage room.

Just have to say the game looks great on the PS3 and I love it already, especially wit the different suits for Batman and Robin.

Maybe tonight I'll try TFU.

Did anyone get the game from TRU and pick up the free comic they were offering?

Was wondering if it's worthwhile.

I bought the game from my local TRU expecting a comic book, but instead I was told they hadn't recieved their order of comic books yet, and that I should come back with my receipt to recieve it another time.

And yes, I will definately be getting that comic book.
