I'd rather a lego spiderman game...is it true TLC lost that licence to 'break-away' blocks and co? Because that kinda sucks, i loved those spiderman sets. Although i do find it funny i never acually bought any...

Yeah, I actually heard it on LoG from the minifig designer. I think his name was Bonven?

I read this in Xbox magazine a few months ago. Sounds like an interesting project, but I don't see 50 playable characters in this one (unless we got about 20 differant variety of guard/henchman).Oh well, hopefully this will be another great combination of my two favorite pastimes Mr. Green !

There's a review of 7786 Batcopter set on Brickzone.net.

One of the pics for the review shows the back cover of the instruction book, which is an ad for the LEGO Batman video game.

Looks like it'll be out for all of the major platforms, although the only handheld platform I see is the DS.

I have a GBA, so I'm a little disappointed there won't be one for that.

It's a little surprising to see it coming out for PS2 and it's not being ported to the PSP. Oh well, I don't have a PSP anyway. Smile

Zzz at Eurobricks posted some pics that look like they come from the LEGO Batman video game.

It's the third post from the top.

Should be a fun game, can't wait for it to come out.

EGM had a massive preview of LEGO Batman, which included those pics you linked. Some high points of the article:

1. There is a villain story (where you play as villains trying to stop Batman).
2. Instead of Force Powers, you get different suits (i.e. Batarmor lets Batman throw Bat-Grenades, Magnet suit lets Robin stick to ceilings, etc.).

This sounds neat. Kind of reminds me of the Bounty Hunter missions in LSW2.

This sounds a little weird to me. Guess I'm a little shell shocked from all the different Batman action figures made with different suits. Hopefully LEGO won't go to crazy with different suits like Hasbro/Mattel have.

Wonder if you'll have to switch to different suits in free play to do different actions like you had to switch to different characters in LSW to be able to jump higher, etc.?

Think the pics shown are from Free Play, because in most the villians are attacking their own goons.

11Numb, do you have a link for this article?

EDIT: In case anyone missed the news in the New LEGO Batman characters announced topic, there's a quick little teaser for LEGO Batman Video Game at Yahoo.

On IGN.com they've posted pics of what appears to be the PS3 version of LEGO Batman.

They show four pages of pics, but most are repeats. Unfortunately, a lot of the ones I clicked on to see the full size pics on the first couple of pages of thumbnails came back "Pic not found".

Did have better luck on pages 3 and 4.

Thanks for the video.

I'm more excited about this game than I am LEGO Indiana Jones.

September can't get here soon enough for me. Smile

What I think makes this game so appealing is the fact that it follows its own plotline instead of one from the latest movie. I know that the "every villain has escaped the Asylum, Batman! What will you do?!" plot is waay overused, but I think it's better than LEGO The Dark Night. (though a Heath Ledger as The Joker minifig would be awesome, especially in a video game)

GamePro has an article about the LEGO Batman game online and in it's print magazine.

There's also a contest where you can win a custom painted LEGO Batman XBox 360 Elite.

Unfortunately, the box where you're supposed to enter the amount of batsymbols found in the article doesn't seem to work, for me at least, so I can't enter the number.

Noticed the print version when my wife and I were at Barnes & Noble and I saw a white magazine with a huge LEGO Joker on the cover.

There's also a black cover with LEGO Batman on it.

September can't come soon enough, this is a definite buy!

Thanks for the link!

The game looks great, but not to thrilled with Clayface. Would've preferred him to be bigger, similar to the Rock Creature from the Rock Raiders line, but with articulation.

I'm guessing they may make a head/torso cover for Clayface similar to how the Wookie's are done in the Star Wars line.

Read an article on Gamespot that said the following:

Gamespot wrote:
Today, WBIE revealed its first acquisition since its half-billion-dollar windfall. The interactive arm of Time Warner is now the proud owner of Traveller's Tales, the British developer of the Bioncle series and the wildly popular Lego Star Wars series.

WBIE is Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment, and the article also says that WBIE bought TT because they were impressed with the work done on LEGO Batman Video Game.

Can't wait for this game, looks like a lot of fun!

Thought Poison Ivy destroying all those plants was funny, seeing as how she's the plant lady.

Also, liked Ivy's car, may have to try and build it some day. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if that turned into a future set.

I was hoping Bruce Wayne would throw gobs of cash in enemies faces to blind them while he punches them, that would've been cool! Smile

Can't wait for September to get my LEGO Batman fix.

Neither do I, but it's a LEGO game.

Well, Gamestop has 9/1 as ship date, too.

Amazon says it'll be released 9/23.

Wonder which is right?

I'd prefer 9/1, of course. Smile

Wow! Thanks 11Numb! Mothman hasn't been confirmed yet so that's cool that we know now that he is a character.

Yeah. His mask would make a perfect alien head, with the green color and alien-like antennas.
