We are looking for a small, easily-constructed set that will serve as the official FBTB Mascot Set! Use any/only parts from the LEGO MINI Star Wars line (12 sets), but use no more than 100 pieces max. Winner will need to submit parts list and instructions so that everyone in the FBTB community will be able to duplicate the mascot at home. This thread is for entries ONLY; please post no more than 3 photos (or links to 3 photos) and a short description of your entry.

Winner receives bragging rights and a 10129 UCS Snowspeeder!

These contests are intended to run concurrent with Celebration III, 20-24 April. However, final deadline for all 3 will be 12M ET Wednesday 27 April. FBTB staff will determine winners, and decisions are final.

so, when's the deadline? and are there any constraints besides what you've listed? is there a mascot already, and does it have to be a creature, ship, whatever? just a little vague.

It might seem a little vague because a) no, there is not a mascot already; b) constraints are as noted; and c) it can be a creature, a ship, or whatever Smile Deadline has been clarified.

Now, I'll make the start:

Bothan Bot:

Picture 1 | Picture 2 | Picture 3

After my first attempt to create something for this contest failed (or does it still qualify with snot and approximate 500 parts? Razz) I tried something different. So I came up with Bothan Bot, who comes with a Jet Pack and the color scheme of the new designed frontpage! Very Happy

(Q: Are we allowed to post multiple entries?)

OK, my entry is a droid. Included are pics of the front, back, and the parts/instructions. The pieces come from the millenium falcon, jedi starfighter, snowspeeder, and tie fighter. If for any reason those pages are not functional then the folder can be found here.

Yes, I know, he looks cute, but in reality he's quite mischevious! Hold tight to your most treasured secrets, for the Bothan Droid is watching... before you know it your most secret MOC plans will go from Bricks to Bothans!

My entry is a ship, which currently has no story/background associated with it. :p

I hope we're not judged on naming, because I'm not very good at it, so I'll leave the name up to.. ..whoever wants to name it! ^_^

Anyways, here's the pictures:

Can't let a competion go by without me!

Here's my entry.
It's silly.
It's stupid.

It's a taxidermied Bothan. Twisted Evil

Arghs, the flashes of inspiration!

I don't see anywhere that we can't enter twice, so I hope this's okay..
If we can only enter once, consider this my official entry, I like it much better than the previous. Smile

Do you govern a small planet? Tired of the brick being disrespected? Worry no more, the FB-2B is here to restore order to your corner of the universe! For only 30,000 credits, you will recieve one FB-2B with a lifetime warranty. Act now, as supplies are limited.

hmm.. good point CWAL. So if we may have our 2nd entries (mine's only 1.5, really) and if something smaller is what we want (every one elses seems to be), then consider just my bothan head (w/ the rest of it, it just squeeks under the 100pc limit).

Hailing from the jungle moon of Yappin' 4, it's a Bothan's best friend, Baksteen! Smile This playful droid mutt loves chasing toursists and speeders around Yappin' 4 but has also been known to stop dead in his tracks when adequately enticed by a juicy Bantha bone! (Don't be surprised if he grabs the treat and runs, though-- this is one doggie that never stops to rest!)

Click each thumbnail below for a larger image to see just how cute'n'cuddly Baksteen the droid dog really is!

Baksteen isn't shy at all! When he wants to play, everyone knows it. Why, look! Here he is raising his paw as if to say, "You don't really want to go, right? LET'S PLAY!" (And watch out for that slurping tongue of his!)

Because he spends most of his time bounding through the jungles of Yappin' 4, Baksteen has developed quite the manly physique...

"Bad Baksteen! Bad, bad Baksteen!"

And if you're so inclinced you can view Baksteen's gallery once it's been moderated here.

Huzzah, it's Baksteen! Very Happy This was actually the first original MOC I've built in about a decade... nowadays I tend to just build retail sets straight out of the box but I have to say, this was a blast to work on! He was created mainly using pieces from the mini MF, RGS, MTT, JSF, AT-TE, and ISD sets. I hope you guys like him, I certainly enjoyed bringing him to life. Wink

My goodness... You guys really rock with all these alternatives. I wanted to enter but my tiney little good angel told me not to. Plus, I couldn't even if I wanted to, I had no time what so ever. Razz...

Way to go guys, I'm sure all of you deserve that big fat prize, but sadly there is only one prize after all... Good luck to all. Smile

Thank goodness we have more entries! I was starting to worry, since we only had one entry for so many days.

You folks all have some really awesome (and hilarious!) ideas here. I truly wish at least two of y'all could win together.

Wow I'm glad I'm not judging this....great work everyone. I don't even know if I could pick a favorite...if I had to I would say that I really like that mini version of a mini-falcon so I would have to go with the brown guy swooshing his mini-mini-falcon.

And the winner, by unanimous decision, is....(drumroll)

FB-2B!!

He's mean, he's not green, he carries a big stick, the price is right, and you can't beat that warranty! And the name is kick-patootie!

Congratulations, CWAL, well done! To make this official, you must submit directions and a parts list as stipulated in the rules (and if you could include from which mini-sets the parts are from, that would be most helpful as well). Once you have done so, please PM me your information so that your prize can be sent.

Awesome work by everybody who enetered, and as much as Bakksteen's "droppings" had me laughing, i hafta admit i liked FB-2B as soon as i saw him. SO simple yet so very cool! And the LS blade in one hand just topped it off. Razz

His motto:

"I don't need no stinkin' hilt!"

Congrats & enjoy the set, CWAL!
