I am so in. For starters, 'R' is the first letter of my name! Secondly, the Alpha Project is wicked cool! Thirdly, that concept has my brain-cogs whizzing around already! And lastly, that M-wing is just so... so... cute! (Not a word I use much, I can tell you.) I may have to check that my canal holiday doesn't overlap the entry time, but otherwise, I'm there!

Can't wait to see the other entries!

Are we allowed to make 2 R's in the same ship or only 1?

just one. symmetry would make things too easy.

There goes my idea for the Triple-R-Wing, a ship eventually chosen as the perfect fighter for space pirates who simply called it ...

wait for it ...
wait ...
wait ...

the Arrrrr Shocked (I can't believe I said that)

:D!!!! ::D:

onions: yoda, R2,... are all legal.
tanotrooper: but youre not gonna make it minifig scale, is that legal?
onions (Darth Sidious voice): I will make it legal...

sorry bad joke.

Just to be sure... it's the orange one, hum? I don't see any other M-wings on that site...

Awesome! I already have my entry built. Very Happy

Aren't you rushing it a bit, dude!!! Imagining the letter "R" as a fighter is a challenge by it self! You must be a super duper builder!

Not really. It usually takes me a day or two to build something. I think I lucked out with the design. It wouldv'e been shorter If I hadn't built it backwards. Confused

Don't take it the wrong way, but the way you posted that comment gave the impression that you weren't serious, or the model that you've built isn't as good... I don't know the level of your building skills, or how large your brick collection is, but from my experience, even the most skillful builders around the whole LEGO community can't pull something nice in the same pace of time you've pulled!
It's always wise to take enough time to study you're creation and modify it before you finalize your decision! I mean, you have about a whole month to build something worthy enough, why just cut it to few hours? Wink

I'm definitely serious about this. Like I said, I hit a huge break, and I think it looks good. One reason why I build early is to get comments that'll help enhance the design. Thanks for your input.

Ace, you can ignore my request. I will bypass this contest I think.
I may finish it and post in the SW MOC section after the holidays.
I will also keep a close eye on this forum while I'm away to see the creativeness of the MOCs showcased

Aw sithspit Sad I've made the most awesome fighter ever to come forth from the hands of Kettch, but there's one teeeeeny problem. It's not technically R-shaped. Looks absolutely amazing, but it's not an R. I just kept taking off the front bit to change the design a little bit until I realised it just looks so much better without it.

Back to the drawing boards, I guess. And it was yellow as well. I like yellow.

At which angle that the ship looks like an "R" will most likely decide the winner. I've brainstormed, and have contemplated all possible ways an "R" could be used. I think I found the one. But, I haven't laid a single brick, yet!

Hey Onions,

From friday of next week onwards I will not have access to a camera, camera to computer link up or even any LEGO as that is when my holiday officialy begins.
I was hoping you could let me post my entry before friday, I have thought up a design and think it works very well, this competition has really got me thinking about how I want to build and would love to see if it has a shot in the compo.

Many thanks if you can help me out,

Ed Cool

P.S I have pmed you the same message

probably not. jon's project is his own. he still plans on finishing it. this is just fbtb's version. kinda like the y-wing contest from awhile ago.

the bionicle pieces needed to construct the m-wing came in a variety of colors, as did the kits. the pictures on jon's site are from his initial model, burnt orange.

i'll have to dig around and see what colors are possible. i'll probably do that this week.

i hope people are taking this contest seriously. i don't want to see a ton of models that's are half jokes entered. it just wastes my time as well as everybody else's.

if you're stuck about what kind of design you can do to make the R more interesting, i would advise you to take a peek at jon's k-wing. even though he had symmetry on his side, it should open up some design ideas.

Oh come now, at least wait until you see it before you criticise it. Razz It may have more sharp edges than a razor-edged yoyo, and have a worse colour scheme than vomit green and pink, but it's got my best greebles ever, and a rather cool cockpit... Wink

(Although at this stage in the process, it has no landing gear... D'oh Mad )
