I don't normally enter these contests, but I have been wanting to make this droid anyway so it gave me a good excuse. I really like the way she turned out. After I saw one of the above entries I was a bit discouraged, but I guess great minds think alike. I had to wait till my parts from bricklink got in today before I could finalize her, WA-7:

A Red Lego Baseball cap that I cut up. First I took the stud acceptor out of the bottom and then I just slowly cut away from the rest untill I got the shape I wanted. Then I added the Lego Dragon Wings to the sides. Finally I painted it dark red to match the body. I do like yours, and was bummed when I saw it because I wanted to post mine too, but didn't know what my chances were since we made the same droid, although there are some differences in our final results. I had made an initial version in the wrong colors two days after the posting of the contest and then was waiting on one of the slowest BL orders I have ever particpated in to get the torso. Anyway, good luck to all.

Edit: I changed my mind, my assassin droid sucks a lot so here's my second entry; Manta droid subfighter as seen in clone wars:

Well, I just painted a battle droid's torso red instead of buying the torso from Jabba's palace. Also, I was originally going to use parrot tails for her "ears" but decided that it might have been easier for Pepa to realize that I used real lego eliments with the levers. I tried to paint them, but it turned out in a mess. To get the "shiny effect", I just used silver Sharpee

OK, thought I'd toss my hat into the ring. This is the first time I've been brave enough to cut & modify bricks! I felt a bit guilty to start with, but it ended up being rather theraputic after a hard week.

I was surprised to find that there were no accurate, minifig scale droidekas that were not too big that I could find, So I worked on my own. The colors aren't quite right, but there are no weird colors. This is partly because of my lack of parts and partly because of the lack of any parts in the right color period. I am sure everyone knows what one looks like, but I provided a reference pic anyway.

I think I speak for lots of FBTB-ers when I say that I have long despised...actually hated the General Grievous minifig that Lego gave us in the 7255 set.

I was also bummed in Ep. 3 when he, like Maul and other cool SW baddie characters gets killed off so soon....

So I was absolutely pumped when I heard that Grievous would be appearing the Clone Wars Animated Series!

Genndy Tartakovsky, the creative force behind the appearance of those characters in the CW series got the presence and literal size of Grievous completely right in this series.

In the cartoon, Grievous literally towers over opponents in scenes like when Dooku is testing him, or when he is cutting through the troops stalling for time while Shaak Ti and the other Jedi escape with the Chancellor.

So as far as minifig scale goes, my entry for the contest is in scale with the CW version of Grievous.

Check it out when public:

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/logang1/dengar/grievous.cw.1.jpg

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/logang1/dengar/cw.grievous.2.jpg

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/logang1/dengar/cw.grievous.3.jpg

So I think it goes without saying that if you're a customizing purist, you won't like this rendition of the General. I don't mind a little cutting and glue if what ends up looks like it could fit in the lego universe.

I'm pretty pleased with this guy and he's far more menacing than the Lego version.

All pieces are lego elements, the shoulder piece had the middle tube removed to accomodate the head stud of the factory Grievous torso. I cut a 4L bar to create the short bar for the arms to attach. The feet of course are custom pieces, lego "teeth" to give him those bonecrunching blades from the CW series...

Now all I have to do is get a proper cape sized to finish him off...MMCB here I come!

I hate to ask, but was Grevious considered a droid? In the Star Wars Databank he is listed under Characters and not droids (unlike C-3PO, R2-D2, and all the other major droids).

Grievous and Dark Troopers (if they are droids) are fine. I know Grievous was once fully organic, but the physical nature of him at his end is nearly 95% droid-like, anyway.

Nearly one week left and there's already a lot of great submissions. Keep up the good work!

While Grievous is technically an organic, I feel he ooks and therefore is built lego wise like a robot, IMHO he should count as a robot for this contest.

Given the discussion above regarding Grievous, is anyone going to be cheeky enough to enter a Guri?

I wish we could submit more than one entry, but I totally understand why the limit of one was placed on the contest...
