Hey guys, I'm hoping somebody can help me out here. I recently shipped my first ever BrickLink order to New Zealand but the buyer is complaining about damage to several new minifigs. I'm almost certain the damage occurred in transit, as the figs in question were taken from new sets purchased in May, and I've sold dozens of other figs from the same sets with no complaints. The order was sent in a bubble mailer as a letter (which still gets hand sorted by Canada Post), so I'm wondering if it might have gone through an automated sorter, or if any of you have encountered similar difficulties. Anything you can shed some light on here would be much appreciated. _________________ My BrickLink store |

I've never had any difficulties shipping to NZ, other than it taking a long time. I shipped figures in a bubble mailer there just a couple of weeks ago, and got positive marks for it. However, I always make them cover that envelope in "Fragile" and "Do Not Bend" when I take LEGO in. _________________ Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe. - Albert Einstein |

Well, since lego is really expensive over here, at least 1/2 of my lego comes from overseas.I've never had any problems, apart from 1 package being lost (3 sandcrawlers ), sure, i've had a few come really late (i'm talking abount 3-4 months here) but never anything damaged.Admittably i dont buy figures or MISB sets, i buy damaged sealed sets real cheap.
However, i have learnt, never send send lego in letters, as it does have a tendency to get damaged if not crushed.
Just from experience...
On another note, I got grevious! really nice set i have to say (well, once you get him to stand straight anyway), quite tall, bigger than i expected. _________________ 1 = God, Jesus

I also make heaps of Bricklink purchases, and have had no issues with damaged goods from any sellers. I have only just made a purchase which solely consists of minifigs, so will keep a keen eye out to see what condition they are in when they arrive.
Like Sam90 - I occasionally buy sets that have damaged Boxes - So long as the parts and instructions are Ok:)
Oh - and the Power functions sets (LEDs - Woohooo!!!!!) are also available at Toyworld and Moore Wilsons! - $49.00 _________________ 'Laugh it up, Fuzzball....' |

I want an extra motor and the IR remote and receiver (to put in my motorized AT-AT) but I assume they didn't have any of the IR stuff and you can only get that through the Lego online shop?
(and I'll be damned if I am going to be paying the shipping that they charge for just that) |

If you want to get just the IR Receiver and transmitter, I'd strongly suggest using Bricklink. eg - this seller is in Aussie.
http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Boofy&itemID=10275078
Bricklink sellers only charge actual postage too, which is sooooooo much cheaper than Lego.com's rates.
Some sellers are pretty flexible too - I picked up all my LED's after asking one seller to part out their Power Functions sets, and got 5 pairs of LED's for NZD$50.
I also needed lots of PF extension cables, so instead of buying a whole bunch of standard cables, I just took one into my local Hobby shop and they put some new ribbon cable in it - Cost me NZD$10 extra, and now i have a 110cm PF extension cable. Sweeet.
And Knightly Knight - are you going up to Kapiti next weekend (11/12 Oct) for the Lego Show?? _________________ 'Laugh it up, Fuzzball....' |

possibly, I was wondering how worthwhile it would be. It's a long way out to look at an over sized store display or similar. Whats the plan for displays etc?
I'll probably decide on Saturday anyway as this weeks been crazy with work and a restless child so I might just want to sleep... |

That's so funny! I wonder what he did? Perhaps he had a tantrum, smashed his Lego to bits and then got told that it would be sold (because he clearly didn't value what he had).

I try to pick them up when i get the chance - Although I only have 5 of them. There all pretty nice though.
I have Darth Vader, Chewie, 3PO, Mace and Boba. Would love to find Yoda and a Stormie.
Usually pick them up from Farmers or TW when they have sales / specials. _________________ 'Laugh it up, Fuzzball....' |

The Toyworld in St Lukes, Auckland has 3 UCS AT-STs on the shelf - all about $180 or $190 if I recall correctly.
If anyone's looking for one, maybe your local toyworld also has some in stock... _________________
