From memory...
Sandcrawler 299
Eiffel 399
Dreamliner 149
Town Plan 199
Falcon 749
I know that they are doing the Falcon at that price to compete with Kmarts opening deals, but they only had 2 of them - special order apparently.
I love having a local toyworld where the owner is obsessed with Lego:) _________________ 'Laugh it up, Fuzzball....'

Si've got a sandcrawler on it's way to me and the other i'm not really intrested in, but i can't get over that falcon!

I know he only did the Falcon price for me as a bit of a favour because i would have got a Kmart one instead, but really - thats what good customer service is all about aye.
I love the dreamliner too - looks AWESOME in person, as does the Town plan - shame about all the stickers, but hey.. _________________ 'Laugh it up, Fuzzball....' |

wow the falcon is super cheap, a must get at that price...pretty cool that he got all those other sets in....you're very lucky
i went back to toyworld today to pickup the town plan...they sold all the sets they had on display, i lucky he has a few more sets in the store room
also the RGS on shelf were all gone and only had a few at the front of the shop. i bought it so i can sleep at nights knowing i'm not going to miss out on it
i spoke to the same guy at toyworld today and he said the new sets has been flying out the doors. as for the other bigger sets that is coming in, he said they could be here tomorrow or could be here at xmas. They are all in one big container which he doesnt know the arrival date
oh went to toyworld and the warehouse at northlands and they both dont have anything new |

Farmers is having a 30% off toys sale for farmers card holders on Thursday.
I don't know if any farmers stores have the new sets yet but I asked and they said that there is quite a bit of stuff that hasn't made the shelves in the one I went to. No idea if it includes Lego or not.
I'd be keen to know if anyone sees CW's Lego in any farmers stores near them. |

Thanks for the heads up elmo. I went to the Wellington Kmart on Saturday but they were out of AT-TE's which at that price I am not surprised.
also elmo check your PM's.
The droid gunship was going to be in the next wave of sets I believe. |

A bit of a rant but anyhooooo.....
It really annoys me when i see auctions on TM that are stupidly overpriced. eg - there are 2 7666 sets on there at the moment, for Buy now prices of $199 and $255. I know that NZ cant get them at the moment (unless you know someone in USA, in that case its a whopping NZD$70 plus postage), but since when has Lego been a collectors item that shoots up 150% in value in less than a year?
I dont know about any of you fellow kiwis, but I open every single Lego set that Ive bought, from my UCS-ISD through to my Beach House set, which Ive pilfered for parts:) and proudly display as many models as I can.
How do you guys feel about the overpriced auctions on TM? Do you think Lego should be built or kept MISB?. Crikey Im a whinger......phew...... _________________ 'Laugh it up, Fuzzball....' |

Well, over-priced auctions, yes, i hate them, but not nearly as much as megablocks or torro listed as lego at a brargain price WITHOUT a photo - and when it arrives... well, i'm sure you can use your imagination...
But i guess i can't really say much, i sell a lot of lego on TM even MISB .But i do make sure i never sell anyting other than LEGO, and i try to keep it fairly priced.I mean, how else does one make extra money?I know the lego market VERY well, and just use that to my advantage .But ripping people off - thats a big no-no.

i guess its all about the market, if someone is willing to pay a rip off price then its up to them
i havent sold many sets but i only sell them when i need money to buy other sets hahaha
p.s anyone have a 10019 Rebel Blockade Runner for sale? i'm looking for a complete one |

I haven't seen either of those sets.
There are a few places with different shops in close proximity, which is always good.
St Lukes mall has a KMart and a Toys R Fun, and across the road is a ToyWorld. All within walking distance.
Henderson has a Kmart in one strip mall (with a Toys R Fun or Toy Magic, not sure which). In the main Henderson mall is a Warehouse and Farmers (Farmers there has a few of older sets, usually - Arctic Explorers etc), and across the road from the mall is a toyworld.
Kmart Henderson has lots of Speed Racer on clearance. Has Dwarf Mine etc. Toyworld there has the clone tank, Eiffel Tower, Sandcrawler, that new City set with old whathisface, LEGO owner on the box, maybe the dreamliner too (UGLY!).
As for other areas / malls with that sort of close clustering, I dunno. _________________

It frustrates me knowing the set is available but not worth the asking price, but ultimately they only make a profit when someone is willing to pay what they are asking.
It is possible that one set is being used to try to 'justify' the other not quite so overpriced set. OTOH if I had a MISB Hoth base I would part with it for $250, but not much less. Personally I would not be willing to pay more then about $130 for the set, and even then only if I had the money and it wasn't earmarked for something else (like the new clone wars sets).

since Ultimate Space Battle and Imperial Inspection. isn't the point of all this that we value & collect Lego, and thus it is a collectors item

I have a couple of MISB sets in my cupboard but I generally bought them for a bargain or on sale and have no desire to sell them anyway.
As my wife keeps telling me, I can't buy Lego to sell on, as I will end up wanting to open, build and keep it. That and I have too much and should sell some, which I think is largely because I can only display a small portion of my sets with a baby in the house, coupled with the amount of storage it takes up.
and to ensure this post has some on-topic content for this thread Kmart catalog has
V-Torrent for $80
Manga Guard fighter for $60
RGS for $170
till Wednesday.
Farmers also had 15% off toys (it did the other day when I went in) and had a couple of the impulse sets priced at $5.50 not discounted (normally $7, so a bargain at $4.50) |

Hey NZ'ers, Just to let you all know, there is a Lego show and Building competition to be held in conjunction with toyworld Coastlands, at the Coastlands Mall on the Kapiti Coast, on the 11th and 12th of October.
A few of us Wellington AFOLs will be helping out and building some large models to be shown, but the main thing is that its run on the last weekend of the School holidays - so we hope to have lots of entries from a wide range of age groups, and a huge variety of models.
Prizes (lego of course) for all age groups and 'fun for all ages'
Be nice to see some fellow FBTB members there! _________________ 'Laugh it up, Fuzzball....' |
