The Zellers in Barrie today had at least 20 of the Hyena Bomber Droids (I think that is the name, anyway, its a 2009 set) as well as 1 of the Pirate Fortressess, and a couple of Pirate mini sets, Cannon Battle or something like that.
Also, Toy R Us has a big add in their new flyer mentioning that they have 2009 sets. The Picture shows mostly Pirate and City sets, with some Creator. _________________ "I'm not locked up in here with you. You're locked up in here with me." - Rorschach, Watchmen |

Last night TRU near Square One had practically all the 2009 sets including SW, Indiana Jones, Spongebob, CITY, Creator, Pirates, Racers, Power Miners, etc. No SW battle packs but i'm sure they can't be far. Are Cdn prices on the 09 licensed sets higher? Ex:
8019 R. Attack Shuttle $84.99
8017 AAT $64.99
8016 Vader's TIE $39.99
Seem higher anyway. With or without tax- they're just too expensive.
The Indy Flying Wing set was $67.99 or something- higher than the AAT anyway. Shanghai Chase was $44.99 i think. Kudos to the Indy sets' designers for the detail & accuracy. _________________ "...the creation, of a Greened Army of the Republic."

8019 - 79.99 MSRP shuttle
8018 64.99 MSRP aat
8017 39.99 MSRP darth
8016 26.99 MSRP hyena ship
flying wing - 64.99
shanghai chase 39.99
The good old TRU jack up!! They convince LEGO they should have first crack, SUCK THE BLOOD out of the avid fans who can't wait.
BUT come mid Jan/early Feb, Lasting Toys will have all the 2009 stock I can grab (and we ordered heavy!) AT MSRP OF COURSE!! |

The posts made me dash out to the Oakville TRU on my lunch today, (ended up a little late with traffic) and nabbed the Shanghai Indy set, passed on the Flying Wing till we see if MSRP set come from Wallymart or Zellers. They had lots of Pirates, some new creator, Power Miners, and I think some of the Clone Wars stuff, but all that was in a separate display and I don't care about those. _________________ Age: fogey

I hit my nearest TRU this morning and found an endcap of the new pirates and one of the construction sets including the horse truck set. They had the new battle packs and the Darth Vader fighter. They didn't have any other sets. But they had the large Creator Dino for half price and the large LoM base set also half price, haven't seen that set for a while now. _________________ We're keepers of the peace, not soldiers. |

As of Saturday that Hamilton Toys R Us had new Clone Wars stuff (no Battle packs, though) but no more Darth Vader TIEs. They had all the new Indy, Pirates, Miners and the various Town sets (including the truck and horse trailer, which I was actually very tempted to pick up!).
The Zellers at Burlington Mall had losts of empty shelves where new Clone Wars sets once were, with few left over Hyena Droids that nobody wanted (I think this set's the "shelf warmer" for the current release). They still had lots of Pirates sets. _________________ Sined,

So both of my kids opened their brand new 8014 Clone Walker Battle packs on Christmas morning and both of them have the "limited edition" chrome darth vader inside!!!!! I wonder what the odds are for that?
I got the same set for Christmas but no darth vader inside. No fair, no fair, no fair
Anyway, I told them they're not allowed to open them yet just in case they turn out to be valuable. |

WOW
I thought these were, like chrome C-3PO, weren't supposed to be in battle packs.
And, I assume these were bought in Canada...so...a Canada find? With C-3PO all I heard were US finds.
Good on you and hope you have a very Merry Xmas indeed! |

jesterca actually reduces the new magnet set (with new vader, chewbacca with gray bow, and obiwan) from 19.99 to 14.99 which makes this somewhat easier to swallow! time to load up on some!
the indy magnet set is also available! Remember these are real minifigs that are releasable from the stand and only the stand has the magnets |

Lego Shop at home has some Castle, Space and Bionicle sets discounted today for boxing day. No new Star Wars (or other particularly good sets) though. |

Happy New Year to the MBoCLH!
by the way, jesterca is no longer working. I snoozed on the magnet sets and am regretting it! To those who sell minifigs, it was an easy money maker as vader goes for $15 on ebay! |

I think we should all be on ** High Alert ** for an upcoming code/sale bonanzas.
I was just thinking lately that we are about due any time now, and looking back in recent history of my past orders placed on the shop@home site, timeframes for the last two years' (seemingly annual) events were Jan 5 '07 and Feb 2 '08.
It's a good bet we might see something over the next 3-4 weeks. ** fingers crossed smiley **. Remember they don't tend to last long. One of the last times if I recall correctly, the "event" lasted only about 12 hours max!!
We need to stay frosty and alert. We can't afford to let one of those bonanzas get past us. |

Codes are one part of the story.
The other is those MAGICAL days when you log on to shop@home and practically the entire site is marked down to the US price in CDN dollars! With no codes at all. As you know, for a lot of sets that represents a 25-30% savings.
Some claim stories of system glitches... others insist they are no accident. |

Thanks for the heads up. I saw many of these priced at $36.99 in December so I knew they'd be clearing them out at some point. _________________ My BrickLink store |

Looks like this will be the worst year ever for Wal-Mart clearances. By the looks of the reset sheets, they're keeping all the 2008 and 2009 stock as far as SW, Indiana Jones and Town sets go. The only sets I could see on the shelves now which aren't on the reset sheets were a couple of Bionicle and Racers.
And those of you who found Chrome Vaders in the new battle packs definitely lucked out. I've checked 14 so far with no success. _________________ My BrickLink store |

When the first new 2009 SW sets hit the Wal*Mart shelves earlier this month I had asked a stock person about the battlepacks and they had told me that, while they had them, they were told not to put them on the shelves...didn't say why and suspect she didn't know either...like LEGO would, right?
(Thinking the memo would just read "packaging issue" so as not to highlight there's a rare figure in the box.)
I suspected it was because those Chrome Vaders were erroneously placed in them for the first production run...
So...battle packs hit the shelves this week and out of 4 nada on Vader. |
