All right, what would all you EU fans think it LFL let the EU be completely rewritten? Personally, I'd love it. the writers were never allowed to touch certain subjects because the PT was coming but now that the SW history has been revealed...hasn't some/most of the EU been proven completly useless? We've had our fun with the EU as it had been written but I think it would be fun to do it over, pretend it never happened. A brand new EU would add a lot of fresh ideas IMHO.

I'd support an EU reboot if it was well handled. Namely, getting rid of some of the more jarring elements (gimmicky Dark Jedi, the hordes of Imperial superweapons, the kidnapping plots, the un-SW-like aliens, etc). The biggest benefit as you say is that a new EU would be able to avoid the large story gaps created by the then absent prequels and so better fit in. We could get tales of a younger Palpatine first discovering the dark side, Padawan Yoda, etc.

I think that would be cool, but you also have to keep in mind how much author's work you'd be falsifying. I mean I know a lot of stuff already is conflicting with the movies, but smaller minute stuff could just be fixed, not all of it.

One thing I've always thought would be cool is to republish all of the EU books with the same bindings and cover style so that they all match. I'm a big geek for that kinda stuff.

Here's an idea- if they did do this, the existing EU could be classified as 'Infinities'. Therefore it's still a recognised extension, but not THE extension.

I'm happy with the current EU, and a new one would just cause confusion, IMO.
