I hope to take more pics of the Inquisitor, as requested, over the weekend.

In the mean time, here is my newest starfighter, the ShadowHunter.

I love this little thing.

That thing is.......Awesome! I like the red and black color scheme and the cockpit most of all. The construction looks great and unique. The only thing I will comment on is the green engine flares. They kinda stick out from the rest of the ship but after looking at them for a while they are growing on me a bit. The only other color I could think of would be dark red but they might get flushed out with the black.

A nicely designed starship, a well-thought construction. I like the embedded weapon systems and engines in the side gondolas best. Good job!

I'm not too fond of the color scheme, not because it doesn't look good, but more because I think it wouldn't be use by the Alliance for their ships. I also find that the middle part looks a little blocky, although you did smooth it out with some slopes. I dunno, maybe if you were to add a little more nose to the cockpît section, it wouldn't look blocky anymore.

On the other hand, the engine/weapons pods are really nice, and I really like how you angled them. I also like like how you used those weird space 2 X 2 plates (I dunno what they are called offically) on the back side. Makes a nice greeby effect.

Overall, I think it's a good starting point, but it really needs another color scheme.

I second that nothion, but the whole construction is nice and well thought of. Good work...

I appreciate all the comments. the entire design started with the ehngine pods and the cockpit mechanism. I've been dying to use these designs for months and I ended up putting them in the same ship. I'd also peen toying with the 1x4 offset plates at the back for a while.

The color scheme actually IS dark red and not red, as suggested. Red looks like orange when it's with black, and all those pieces that you might think look red are actually dark red. I chose it as an alliance fighter because it would be difficult to discern from the space if it were darker instead of lighter and the ships were used to confuse Imperials ond others. you'd see a convoy or a frigate on the scopes and think that it was basically unprotected and then here comes this swarm of ShadowHunters to kick you miserable backside.

In response to the blokiness of it, that was a deliberate design concept, much like how the engine pods aren't really rounded. I like the thickness of the ship. I think it add to the toughness and meatiness of it. Had I made it sleeker and thinner it would like like a fast vehicle and not a strong vehicle.

Sweet lookin' fighter! The color scheme is superb! Very menacing indeed. The triangular shape of the arms is particularly nice. The backside of the thing is interesting, too: what are those "prong" things on the back there? Anyway, yet another top-notch ship.

Thanks, Schism. Glad you like it.

Those prong things are these:

Huh! I didn't even recognize them. That's an interesting way to use 'em.

Very nice ship, it reminds me of the Acolyte from the game Homeworld: Cataclysm. Ever played it?

I'm really impressed with all the SNOT work that's packed into such a small area, especially in the weapons/engine pods. I also like the way the canopy is attached, and how it opens. Great work. Smile

No, I have never played that game, but after looking at the link, I can see why you drew a resemblance between the two.

I like this little ship a lot, and its great hearing comments about the aspects I'm most proud of, so thanks for the compliments.
