The base gun is a Tippmann A5, with a "response trigger".
So yes, it's automatic for all intensive purposes.
It's actually not hard to put together. Took about 1+ hours.

wow i would have never guessed that was an A5. I've been looking at some german an US gear for quite along time but the stuff is really quite expensive but this site seems to offer a much cheaper way to satisfy my needs.  For now i must settle with 1/32 diecast models which i plan on making a diorama with.Be sure to take some more pictures when you have all the field gear. |

awesome custom man! i play paintball all the time and i love seeing new mods. this is truely a first...i mean, most people hook up their guns with small upgrades like expansion chambers, a better trigger, new bolts, you know, crap like that, your gun is OUT OF HAND FRESH!

Whoah...! I didn't even recognize it as an A-5, and I happen to own one! That's a fantastic mod, though I don't know how practical it is.  If I had an extra A-5, I'd give it a shot!

Now make some minifig scale ones.
It looks great, however, I hate anything but pump guns.
Pump guns is what makes splatball so gorram fun.
I spent every weekend all through middleschool playing splatball with my dad, brother, uncle, aunt, 2 cousins, and whatever friends they brought or we brought. It was such a good time. I miss it. I haven't even touched my guns or other gear in sooo long. Next time I go home I should search my closet for them.
We used to make up so many games to play.
Usually variations of "Civil War" and "Capture the flag."
It would be sweet to see some Star Wars splatball guns, and see like Empire vs Rebels.
Onetime when I was buying balls from wal-mart (glow in the dark balls to play at night with!) the girl at the register was talking about her and her friends renting a warehouse and making it look like the set of some big Star Trek ship and they all had Star Trek costumes and phaser-looking splatball guns they made. They went all out. |

wow so theres like 4 of us that actually play huh. 
i haven't bought a new gun in like 4 years, i'm still rocking a semi-auto spyder TL plus. i'm not a big fan of the full autos because it requires little to no skill to hit someone. i was hooked on handguns for a while since it requires the most skill and every shot has to count but i was always getting lit up like a christmas tree.
i sold off all 4 of my handguns, the PT enforcer(total crap), 2 PT extremes(decent but could be better) and i had one of those fan made sidekicks which totally rocked. only problem with the sidekick was the weather, its gotta be blazing out so it doesn't freeze up on you. i can't wait til this summer so i can blast some of my buddies again.
slightly OT but,
did anyone else start off with a stingay?

Yeah, I like the precision "one shot- one kill" method of playing
myself, but sometimes you just gotta say the hell with it.
I also have an ATS M4 select fire marker, fed by a 25 rd. mag.
Now that thing can lay down serious precision surgery on the field.
Most people knock ATS markers, but I've out-shot every other
top marker I've come across. What I mean by "out-shot" is -
not that I can throw 100 rds. in 3 seconds, I'm just able to hit
my target with 1-2 shots. And that's even at 50+ yrds. ATS
markers are just that darn accurate, simply put.

hehehe, me and my friends call the stingray, stingay just for giggles. ::D:
i was actually looking to buy the ATS back in the day, IIRC, its the one with the belt fed ammo mag right? its like $300+ for that thing and i think they also made a larger clip(50 round) for it. i've seen the ATS in action(on the other end of it  ) and thats one of the baddest markers on the market, even now. i've tested out MAD markers in my time, and the ATS's unique feeding mag really can't be beat. even the auto-loading hopper doesn't really do the job that the ATS does. its a great marker so i may break down and pick it up this summer if i have some loot lying around.

I started out with a BrassEagle Talon, then after a while got a Stingray, but hated the Stingray, so I went back to using the Talon.
I'm also one of those people who think anything but pumpguns take no skill at all. I really got turned off from the game after everyone I was playing with started getting semis. It lost all its fun.
That was when I wanted people to start playing Civil War, which is where you have a pouch of splatballs, and you can only load one in at a time, which makes each shot more crucial, requiring more skill. It made it so fun, but I guess no one else liked it much, especially since they spent so much on their fancy no-skill guns.
So yeah, I just got incredibly bored with the game and frustrated by the fact that someone could just point in my general direction and hit me without having to aim, and could just rain shots down at me whenever I wanted to move from whatever hiding spot I was in. Lame...
It reminds me of in Never Cry Wolf, when the hunters hunt with helicopters and machine guns... takes all the sport out of it. |

I would probally be playing paintball already if we didnt have another snowstorm. I thought it would be awesome if we went and played it in the snow but paintballs would go through the snow forts and we would probally chop alot of shots. Ill probally buy one of the helmets, maybe the m35 style and possibly the tompson kit.
oh by the way i have a question about the final product.
Is the plastic kit thingy actually really sturdy on the paintball frame and can it take the abuse of some serious paintball play  |

OK - Don't waste the $25 on the helmets. I have one, and although
they LOOK cool, they're rather flimsy imo for actual play. If you can
find this in the U.S., it's your cheapest, best option -

Either that or shell out some serious cash for a real one.
As for the gun kits - Surprisingly, the one I have is fairly sturdy. I
expected it to be a little on the thin/weak/flimsy side, but it holds
up well. Of course you can't expect it to last if you like to dive for
cover all the time. Nothing will last doing that stuff. But then again,
you're talking about the Thompson. Smaller gun overall...so I'd
imagine you should be able to run around with it just like any other
paint marker.
Anyway - these kits are custom cut to fit whatever gun you order
it for, which comes in two halves, and uses tiny screws to hold it
securely to itself...NOT your marker. Good thing, huh?
I'd recommend getting a kit. You'd probably like it. |

Playing in the snow is SOOO much fun. Make sure you go through the area and flatten down all snow and also make snowforts, and even mini walls and stuff ot hide behind. That makes it so much fun.
If you don't flatten down the snow, people can always see where you walked, so it's lame. splatballs don't do much to the walls of snowforts if you pack them well. One time I hid behind a pile of kind of fluffy snow. I kept getting hit through it, but the balls coming out of it would be so slow they wouldn't break on me. I had like 20 unbroken paintballs sitting in my lap. Haha.
I say give it a try. I HATE snow and I absolutely loved playing it in the snow. It's almost like a whole different game. |

Yeah i was a bit worried about the helmets but i noticed they were like 15 so i figured i would try one. That chin strap looks a bit goofy though.Thanks for for input on the helmet, i will probally just go for the real one. I have been looking at replica uniforms and gear for quite a long time and the best deal i could find on a helmet is like 70$ which is pretty good since alot of that gear is in the hundreds. I heard about those armynavy surplus stores but i dont think they have any in my area |
