I saw Notorious last night after traffic delayed me from seeing it opening night. It's a great film and I'd easily see it again in theaters with a few more of my friends. The pacing of the film was perfect and I enjoyed it in theaters much more than Quantum of Solace or Max Payne; I saw both films with the same group of people at similar ten o clock at night showings at the same theater. Max Payne was just god awful when we went to see it after a football game, QoS was alright but seeing it late at night didn't help the film as I wanted some rest, but Notorious kept my attention thoroughly.

I went to go see Frost/Nixon today at a 2:05 showing, and I must say, it was an awesome movie...much better than I expected. It's the story of the historic encounter between Richard Nixon, the disgraced president with a legacy to save, and David Frost, a popular television host in Australia and the United Kingdom. I won't give away any details because I strongly urge anyone to go see it...well, anyone who can get in the theatre. It's rated R for supposed supposed strong and offensive language. But seriously, the language isn't that horrible at all in my opinion. Anyways, anyone interested in history or the Nixon years would seriously enjoy this film. I highly recommend seeing it Very Happy .

I've just seen the trailer for the new Street Fighter movie The Legend of Chun Li. I have to say I wasn't very impressed. The movie seems to have the wham-bang tone of Punisher: War Zone (which was a terrible mess in comparison to the darker and more contemplative Thomas Jane version) and not enough character development. But then again, it's a Street Fighter movie and what can you expect from that? Kristin Kreuk is beautiful and exotic, but doesn't look Asian enough to play Chun Li in my opinion. However, I am proud that local Singaporean actor Edmund Chen will be playing Chun Li's father in the film.

So, on eBay I was able to score Indiana Jones 4 2-disc DVD for $7... which I wanted to find out WHAT the deal was with the special/digital effects, because the film felt like a huge mess of CGI, but I read an interview where Steven Spielberg said "we used as few digital effects as possible, and Ford did most of his own stunts, in keeping with the feel of the first films"...

So after watching the second disc I found that my biggest problem in the film was the fact that digital effects, and digital lighting was added, where it wasn't needed, which gave a fake, video game like feel to the film, which I didn't like... at all, and it totally voids the fact that they brought out the original cameras for this movie. It made the whole film look fake, and didn't look anywhere near as good as the first film's real lighting (by real I mean sun/light bulbs).

I am also warming up to the film, because I can enjoy now, despite Mutt, because in the special features they said "Harrison is Indy, you can't have an Indy film without him"... so yeah, I'm happy. Smile

I still hate Mac, I will never forgive them for not bringing back Sallah and I can hardly stand the vine swinging/tree/waterfall scenes, but I can now watch it whole thing, without loathing the entire film.

Can't end this thread without saying the Transformers and G.I Joe trailers were pretty sweet.

No better way to end. Except, maybe if news came that Cameron and Scott were making Alien 5, or George Lucas sold the rights to Star Was and Indiana Jones to Christopher Nolan. Or that Twilight 2 and the Karate Kid Remake have been cancelled... Razz

That would actually be the coolest thing ever if it happened. I can dream though, so I'm halfway there.
