Well this is my first review so here I go.
Here we have set 7751 Ahsoka's Starfighter and Vulture Droid which costs $49.99 on S@H. It comes with 4 minifigs (buzz droids not shown), Ahsoka's new red and white Jedi starfighter, and a new vulture droid in dark blue.
front of box
back of box
This set is very similar to 7660 Nabbo starfighter ( $39.99 ) and in my opinion this set is slightly too expensive, but not by much.
The starfighter basically a clone of Anakin's starfighter but has a new firing mechanism that fires two flick-fire missles at once (but not very well). The vulture droid is identical to the one seen in set 7660. Both are nice and swooshable in my opinion.
This set includes a new R7-A7 minigig which will look nice next to my other astromechs. Ahsoka is the same but she now has a chrome lightsaber like in the other sets. I also noticed the chorneas of her eyes on mine are printed off center so it looks like sees looking off the the right. The two buzz droids are also the same.
I tried swapping heads on R7, I think it looks nice.
RATINGS:
Parts: 7/10 Has a fair amount of dark red pieces and a chrome lighsaber.
Minifigs: 9/10 Includes the new R7-A7 minifig
Detail: 8/10 Has a few detailed printed pieces and stickers to detail it
Playability: 9/10 Both ships are swooshable and have flick-fire missles
Price to Parts: 8/10 Slightly overpriced for $40
Availability: 10/10 Available on S@H and other stores
------------------------------------
Overall: 8/10 It's a very nice set and I enjoy it, theres some nice playability about it but nothing too new and exciting. _________________

Great review! I've had my eyes on this set ever since the first pics leaked; and I agree that $39.99 is too steep. Guess I'll have to wait for a deal to come my way. _________________

Nice ship, bad price.
This has got to be one of the best looking jedi starfighters that LEGO has made. However, I think they got the price wrong. Think about it like this:
Anakin's Jedi Starfighter set costs $20 and the starfighter is nearly the same as this one.
And for the $40 in set price, you get an extremely similar starfighter plus a vulture droid plus 2 buzz droids.
That means that for an extra $20, all you get is a vulture droid and 2 buzz droids. Not worth it!
That's like if TLC sold a set called "Vulture droid and 2 buzz droids" for $20. I doubt anyone would buy it, so I'm guessing not many will buy this set either, not to mention that it contains only 291 pieces _________________ Brickshelf gallery:

I think most of us are in agreement when we say this set is overpriced at $39.99. But then again, people will still buy it most likely including myself. However, I'll try to catch one of these on sale if possible considering this set is pretty low on my wants list. But anyways, great review on the set. _________________ Do or do not, there is no try!!! |

Thanks for this review.
Also, thanks to your pictures, I just noticed that the R7-A7 has the new style astromech printing that R2-D2 does in the Death Star set. Lego is now printing around the dome instead of printing from the top only. I love this new droid and I hope it spills over to all the new and re-released (R2!) droids from here on out. _________________

I personally am finding the new R2 head a real detraction - it looks too cartoony. Not in the Clone Wars way, but it doesn't go with the body anymore. _________________

Hmmm I just noticed that too. I agree I prefer the old style R2 head but the R7 looks just fine to me. _________________

Nice review, OOM-9.
I wonder if the markings are stickers or printed (I hate stickers...). Thanks. |

The two 12x3x1 slopes with the star pattern and the controls are printed, the rest are stickers. _________________

good to hear that the sloped pieces are printed. I have all the new sets except for this one and am getting a little tired of stickers. _________________ the eagle may soar, but a weasel never gets sucked into a jet engine |

I was excited about this set but at that price it's too steep. I'm not really a fan of the droid fighters so that's not much of an incentive for me to grab one. |

Is this set a store exclusive? If so, what store? _________________ Sined,

The head and the body don't look natural together IMO. I prefer it your way.
Great review, I might get this now |
