From what I've seen in one of Ace's pictures, it's simply for picking it up. _________________

Kind of like the Republic cruiser, huh? Intresting. Makes sense though. That AT-TE looks sorta hard to pick up with out grabbing a peice that will break off.
I'm thinking of getting this one last. Definitley want to get V-19's and a RGS first. But good review Tyr Ordus. _________________ Oh, signatures are so over rated. =D

I thought that it may be a handle in which a later set like an Laat/i would be able to pick it up. Or something to grab on to since that is how I carry it.

That's a cool thought; LAAT. Lego shouldn't be done with clone wars yet. _________________ dotbstudios

I also bought this for $80.99 ($86.66 with tax). Let me just say, I am not disappointed. This set is worth every penny I paid.
Minifigs: 8- Great clones, cool little hutt, my only beef is Ahsoka's hair- piece.
Parts to price: at the price I got it 9, at the regular price 8. Could use one more clone, but two work for me.
Playability: 8.5- I love how they incorporated the spring loaded launchers.
Detail: 8- The inside could use a little more, but I love how they did the legs this time.
Availability: 10- It's everywhere now.
Overall: 8.5- I love Captain Rex and the awesome AT-TE. The launchers make it for me. Shooting down droids was never this fun. The stickers are a little bothersome, but I'm over it. If you're considering this set like I was, get it. I was procrastinating, but I don't regret it!! _________________ dotbstudios

A pretty baby!
The middle piece to pick up the walker is a very good idea.
Also, the legs are stronger than the old model's.
The blue STAP is fine and could be included in smaller sets.
The figs are fine: mangalized heads look far better in hands than on screen.
(It could just be despise that Lego SW team spent 2 special molds on Anakin and Obi-Wan new hear pieces rather than on other special SW devices (alien heads, etc.).)
The head gun is, like on the old version, hypertrophized but can be easily shortened to fit to the model scale and be transported by a custom gunship carrier (LAAT/c).
***
One ongoing major failure like for nearly every Lego SW walker: EMPTY SEATS.
Remind:
- 1st AT-ST: 1 missing AT-ST pilot
- 1st AT-AT: 3 missing snowtroopers (including for speeder)
- 1st AT-TE: 3 missing clone troopers (including for speeder)
- 2nd AT-TE: 5 missing clone troopers
- AT-AP: 2 missing clone troopers
You can add an empty seat in the 2nd RGS and empty space in the 2 RGS.
It would be nothing with cheap battle packs to fulfill them but there aren't. |

I haven't gotten mine yet, but looking forward to it. I have some interesting thoughts for it though and for those in the US. It seats 8, tis the new family vehicle, has defenses to prevent carjacking, cant get shot in drive-bys. You can force every1 off the road thats ever forced you off, and of course, who can disagree with the long range offenses? _________________ Infinite Bricks in Infinite Combinations(IBrIC)

It's ABS. It doesn't stick very well though. _________________ dotbstudios

I obtained my AT-TE earlier today, must say that it's better than I thought. I' letting the huttling Rotta have fun sitting at the controls of the mass driver. Same con that every1 else has, lack of clones in phase 1 armor. _________________ Infinite Bricks in Infinite Combinations(IBrIC)

That's to pick the AT-TE up. But if you moded the RGS you could some how make it the LAAT/c and that would be the point to which it would hook up by. |
