"You there! Step away from the donut!"
Looking to add a few new faces to your town's citizenry? Look no further. The aptly named Minifigure Collection is here, and even though there's only four figures, they're worth checking out. You've got your usual grumpy-faced cop; someone's gotta enforce the law on those busy streets! More importantly, though, are the other three figures, and the accessories they come with. There's a scumbag businessman, on his way to make another million off the backs off the lower class. In fact, he's probably screwing over the retirement account of our third minifigure, the delivery boy. He's in a big rush to deliver that massive box, so he comes with a hand truck. While his jacket gets bonus points for having the classic Space logo on it, his face shows that he's not at all pleased at having to work on his day off! (He probably slipped a bit of brandy into his coffee mug, at least.) The pièce de résistance is the girl sitting on the park bench. Her accessory is a great-looking boombox, just like the classic ghetto blasters of days past! Add in a few road signs, a fire hydrant, and a traffic light, and you've got a recipe for success. I highly recommend this set!
Ratings (on a scale of 1 to 10):
Parts: 8/10 It's not the invididual parts that are special here; it's how they're used in conjunction with one another. (Again, the boombox!)
Minifigs: 10/10 They're the central focus of this set, and they're all unique.
Detail: 8/10 For such a tiny set, with only the basics represented, each of the minifigs has a lot of personality.
Playability: 10/10 Four great minifigs, and cool accessories for every single one of them. Perfect!
Price to parts: 7/10 It's a bit high ($9.99 for 60 pieces), but given the unique stuff, it's worth the extra cash in this case.
Availability: 10/10 This is part of the first wave of new City sets, so you shouldn't have trouble finding it anywhere.
OVERALL RATING: 9/10 This little collection is a great value for the price. You get a good amount of figures, signs, and extras, and it'll fit in with just about any modern town setting you can dream up. _________________
