Hello, everyone. I’m a former member here from many years ago, but I haven’t been collecting for quite a few years now. I’ve hung on to my collection in case I wanted to start collecting again, but I don’t see that happening any more, so rather than let it continue to sit in a closet forever, I thought someone here might be interested in it and get a lot of use out of it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR LOCAL PICK-UP IN CHERRY HILL, NJ, WHICH IS JUST OUTSIDE OF PHILADELPHIA.

If you’re interested, please PM me with an offer. Payment must be either a money order or cash. No personal checks, please. Payment will be exchanged when the sets are picked up.

These sets were all well-taken care of. Some were on display for a little while (and may have a little dust on them), but most were assembled to make sure all the pieces were there, then disassembled, put in sealed bags, and stored in containers that blocked out light.

To the best of my knowledge, all sets are complete with all mini figures, unless otherwise noted. However, I cannot guarantee that a set might not be missing a piece or two, because it’s possible, though unlikely. The number of instruction booklets that are included are noted next to each set in the list. No boxes are included. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Please note that in some instances there is more than one set in the same bag. All bags are marked so you will know which set or sets are in it.

The pictures shown are of the actual items. Smoke-free household, adult collector. Thanks for looking!

Here is what this large collection contains. I have listed all of the sets in the following fashion:

- [LEGO set number] [Set Name] x [Number of sets] ([Number of Instruction Manuals Included]) [Number of Pieces Per Individual Set].

Laughing Are you serious? Seems kind of insulting to the guys intelligence.

Rapueda, you should include prices for everything so this thread doesn't turn into an auction. (Which I believe is against the rules.)

I'd love that 4504 Millenium Falcon if you decide to ship. If the price is right of course.

No, I wasn't. I was doing that to point out that you have to have prices on your listing. There are no best offers or auctions on this site.

Okay, everyone who's in the process of thread-crapping, stop. And check out the rules... it says no auctions, but otherwise, there are no guidelines about posting prices I could find.

That being said, I'm closing this for now, and leaving it up to Jeremy if he wants to open it again. This place is his baby, and the staff typically stays out of here.

That being said, let me enlighten everyone on why. First... this is a glorified craig's list ad. The purpose of this forum is members helping other members, not "make a few bucks." We're not eBay or anything similar, and a member showing up, saying he's an oldbie (which is possible, but you know, we hear "been a lurker for a long time" a lot), and making one post, to sell his collection, is always going to cause a stir.

Fact is, this isn't members helping other members. You're not offering to send anything, only offering pickup to whatever local members. You didn't offer any prices, and while you obviously put a lot of time into making the post and taking pictures, it seems like the only purpose you wandered to our site is to try and make a sale. That's not what we're about, and we've strongly discouraged or nipped this sort of behavior in the past. That is not likely to change any time soon.

Hmmm...

I was PM'd by dWhisper and asked to hop in here and make the final ruling.

Oh... the pressure!

Likely without the eloquence and thoughtfulness of dWhisper's words, I probably would have said the same thing. This is indeed an impressive collection that is well cataloged and very well described. Any OT collector would die for this collection and minus the lack of boxes and some instructions, it looks to be in the highest grade of collect-ability.

But this forum has always been about members helping members. We drive out scalpers and quick-buck makers without hesitation and we chide those whose efforts are even a notch below our standard. The terms, lack of pricing information, unwillingness to break up the collection, and unwillingness to ship all suggest an unhelpful member. Especially the lack of guidance about the price from the seller could mean someone who is out to find the best price (though it could also mean he doesn't have a foggiest idea about the price too).

Above all, the "members helping members" rule was designed to ensure that our BSTF community is worth more than a catch all for collectors ditching their collection for the highest price. If we were to allow any person to jump in and sell, we'd be no better than ebay or bricklink. This post, like was said above, belongs on Craigslist. If this member had posting history here, was more open with his terms, and offered to break up and ship the collection, I'd welcome this. But under the circumstances laid forth, I will uphold dWhisper's decision, and this will remain locked.

That said, since this is a local pickup and cash-on-delivery, I can't see a scam danger, so good luck if you've already contacted the seller.
