I have been in a store before that sold counterfeit LEGO sets and refused to buy any. I am not talking about Mega Bloks. Be on the lookout for sets saying "Brick" instead of "LEGO." This company produces copies of the actual sets, and I, like many others of you, boycott these pirate sets (not the Pirates theme but pirated LEGo sets). I found this guide (which I did not make) on this great new invention called the "Internet." Very Happy

Unless you are buying it used and out of the box, I don't see how you could get these mixed up. The logo alone should be plenty warning.

Where have you seen these sold?

I wouldn't say it's "counterfit". It looks more just like a rip-off brand.
Kinda like Sprits-Up is a complete rip-off of 7-Up and Sprite.
But it's still legal.

I haven't bought any of those sets, but if you don't have the box, they would be hard to recognize otherwise.

Isn't this issue as simple as looking for the big LEGO on top of your brick studs or for the LEGO logo on the box? The "Brick" folks come out of China if I'm not mistaken. The company that manufactures them is known as Enlighten. Apparently, copyright issues there are a little lax compared to the rest of the world. While MegaBlox and other clones try to emulate LEGO, the "Brick" brand seems to have acquired actual LEGO molds or reasonable facsimiles thereof (making them extra despicable).

That is correct. That's why the guide was interesting. Of course, the military-based theme gives it away.

My bad...I hadn't noticed that you already linked to that MOCPages article. I'm curious if the Enlghten junk actually says "LEGO" on the studs still. Anyone have any close-up shots of Enlighten Brick?

I disagree actually, just looking at the picture posted above, it is very obvious that they are not Lego. Just the look of the plastic gives this very cheap vibe to it. And the figures look terrible. It looks like the kind of cheap crap you would buy in a dollar store.
(and also Lego bricks have "lego" written on each studd Wink )

That's a relief...not that the cheap-o nature and weird colors wouldn't give them away pretty quickly.

I guess that means you owe him one seriously ugly and tacky tie. Allow me to point you in the right direction. Wink

I've seen one very similar to that cheap looking brick at a Dollarama.

Yeah. Remember what happened with police in California with certain person being beaten?

That set is from that event. Wink
