You technic geeks
I still enjoy my DVDs with my 12 year old SD TV, and already preordered TDK, which will be released here at Dec 22. _________________ ~Andi

Kyle, That's the next thing he's gonna buy, and it still looks amazing.
Though to be honest, I only think that's the screen he has, that's the resolution I've got while playing CoD4, so I assume that's it.
When he got the drive he played Casino Royal side by side with itself, (BluRay and DVD) and it's ridiculous how much better the BluRay looks. _________________

So, is anyone else here pretty disapointed in TDK DVD having no deleted scenes, no behind that scenes features of creating the Joker or Two-Face, AND no commentary. Now, Nolan gives a reason for not including deleted scenes, that he doesn't want the actors to feel bad or discouraged. I can understand that. But no behind the scenes look at one of the best portayals of a villian in a movie and no commentary, come on. Thats just lazy. With all the talk Nolan gave about what a tragedy Ledger's death was, then why no memorial in there, why no interviews with cast members, or with Nolan. And why no commentary. I'm still getting the DVD, because the movie was great, but I know that many many people were expecting more features on the DVD, than what it gives. Pretty disapointing, unless their holding those for a future DVD release, then there just being greedy. _________________ BOO! |

Which one did you buy? 1disk, 2disk, Blueray, (I even saw a box set version, but I don't know if that was just the 2disk, plus a mini scuplture thingy)
I got the 1disk DVD, cause I'm cheap, and I msotly only want the movie. Though Deleted Scenes would have been a nice thing to see. _________________

None of the DVD's have deleted scenes, commentary, etc. Even if you get the Special Edition or Blu Ray. The special edtion does have special features, but they aren't really what people were hoping for. _________________ BOO! |

If you fond the first twenty minutes boring, I don't think you'll find this film as good as everyone else finds it, but it does improve. _________________

I haven't seen Dark Knight and I'm not going to.
Please don't kill me.
I don't want to watch it because I'm afraid I might like it a lot. I realize it's a good movie, but I'm not interested in having people quote it to me endlessly.
Also, I love watching people's faces when I tell them I haven't seen Dark Night. It's a beautiful moment.

As with the movie Aliens, I find that with each viewing, you understand more, and the film is much more enjoyable.
I like that.

Life is too short to miss out on great movies like this, IMO.
Just like life is too short to spend your entire working adult life driving a crappy car, if you don't have to.
Anyway, to each their own. |

Do you pay for shipping? And can you see Region 2 DVDs?
It got better later. I just had no idea who is who. The last Batman I saw was from 1992. _________________ ~Andi

That's like, required, before you even go near TDK.
Ah well. Americans can't view region 2 DVDs (unless they have region free players), they're region 1. Also we have PAL, which is better quality apparently. _________________

I have a format-free, region-free player that I got from Costco a few years back for $50. One of the best investments I've ever made. _________________

Wrong.
I saw Dark Knight before Begins and it didn't ruin either for me. They are not linked in any way aside from the obvious.
I did the same for Hellboy. That was a mistake - Good to Bad. _________________

Certainly not required, but after watching BB you have some excitement building up towards TDK. |

I saw Dark Knight before Batman Begins as well. And I followed DK perfectly. After I watched BB, I noticed abunch of tie-ins but none of them really effected DK's story. _________________

Ha, ha... I saw Batman Begins beforeI saw The Dark Knight, too, but since I didn't see it since it was first released on DVD 3 years ago, I kind of forgot about it. plus, since I didn't have the faintest idea about anything Batman when I saw BB, I didn't even realize that Ra's Al Gul or Mr. Zsasz were in it...
But all this to say; I agree with Paddy. It's not imperative that you see BB before TDK.
Turning to the DVD portion of this discussion; I'll probably end up getting the 3-Disc even though the special features aren't that great, according to some of you (A.K.A. Thrash)... At least I'll have the movie and digital copy, if nothing else... _________________ This post was only a test.

I looked at the 1disk dvd yesterday, and noticed there is NOTHING. usually 1disk dvds have a couple of small features. But this one has NOTHING. Just "play" "scene selection" and "options"
But the nice part is that you can put it on to itunes legally, so if you have an ipod that can play video, you can now bring Dark Knight along with you wherever you go. _________________

I love how they changed the way the Joker terrorizes Gotham. In the comics, he's trying to poison everyone with Joker Gas.
But in the movie, he's trying to prove that even the most righteous person can be broken down to cause havoc. _________________

And don't forget the AS, where Joker captured Summer Gleason, Harvey Bullock, and Comissioner Gordon on Christmas just to lure Batman into getting a pie in the face.
That would never make a good Nolan film, would it? _________________ This post was only a test.

How could you not realize Ra's al Ghul? Liam Neeson mentioned he worked for him. What I didn't realize was that Neeson was in fact Ra's all along. I always assumed he was the sensei looking character that was always introduced as Ra's al Ghul. And I just found this out a few weeks ago.
I did like the change from him his traditional attire of robes and cloaks to suits and a sword/cane weapon. _________________

I had no idea who Raj Al Guhl was before I saw the film. He was amazing and it was very clever. But he did sideline the Scarecrow, which was a shame. _________________

I wish there was abit more scarecrow. I love the mask they made for him, I wish they included more of a costume with it. But I guess just the mask worked well for the story. _________________

Well, like I said, I hardly knew anything about ol' Bat-Guano back then... The only reason I even saw BB was because I was over at my friend's house and they had rented it... And when you say, "Liam Neeson mentioned that he worked for him", do you mean he said that in an interview, or that he said that while in character during the movie? _________________ This post was only a test.

I never did get to see it in the end. I finally watched it last night after getting it for a bargain price in HMV -> £9.99. I haven't checked out "Disc 2" yet.
For a film rated 12A, I can see why it caused so much controversy. The Joker used his knife many times throughout, killing people in various ways with it. The pencil through the eye "magic trick" was sick comedy. I found it funny but have heard that some young viewers were "upset" by it in the cinema. I think they should've put it up to a 15. The film will only inspire kids to imitate him - how long will it be till a child is killed by another who was pretending to be The Joker.
Here's a list of countries and the certificate they gave The Dark Knight.
IMDB wrote: |

That aside, it was a terrific film. It had a very clever plot, excellent characters, brilliant actors and a deep message for the audience. I'd give it 9.5 out of 10. The only reason it isn't bang on 10 is because of two things.
1. The Joker should've had more screen time. More jokes, more death and (perhaps?) a secret lair for him. We never really saw where he operated from. Still, that added more mystery to the character didn't it.
2. Two-Face should've fallen off the building and been left in a coma (thus allowing him to be in the third film). Nolan, how could you kill the character off so quickly?! Aaron Eckhart was superb! _________________ FBTB: The Final Chapter
