I feel that seeing as how the last comment in that thread was in July, Garrett would be accused of necromancing and witchcraft if he were to resurrect that thread. Which would be cool, because Garrett's the awesomest dude on the planet in every way possible.
But anyway, who cares? Let this topic continue. I'm the computer lab manager for a local high school. The previous seven years, I was a teacher assistant in an elementary school class for children with severe and profound disabilities.
HOPEFULLY, after next year, I'll be able to get out of my job (I honestly don't like it that much, the pay's just a little better). I'll be graduating in Spring of 2010, and I should be heading straight into a classroom to teach US History in high school. _________________

Been a part-time student researcher for the past three and a half years, investigating computational methods to proactively predict global warming potentials and other effects (toxicity, bioaccumulation, etc.) of various chemicals. Basically, the idea is: You give me a chemical formula, and I'll be able to tell you quantitatively what that chemical will do if/when you release it from your process equipment into the environment.
Oh, and I'm also a little over a semester away from earning my bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. _________________

I am a radio Board Op and Co Host. I never really talk unless I have to go to commericals or the DJ is doing a segement where he talks. I have to edit all the clips so I am always watching the times when we get calls and I manage what gets played which is pretty cool. Its better than being the McSlave I once was, as well as working as a waiter for a sit down resturant. I plan on going to Archeology once I graduate. _________________ Hey just because I didn't finish my sentence dosn't make me lazy. I just don't like working. |

Isn't this basicly What Job Do You Do...
...but if not (very likely, considering 3 MODs replied), I'm out of school and too lazy to get a job before my interview for the RAF to become a pilot. Some time soon I'l be able to have the Master watch as I take off in some brilliant jet.
(I promise I'll get a job soon) _________________

I currently have two jobs. One, I am a cashier/bagger at a Hannaford's grocery store. Got hired November of 2004 when I was 15, and have been there since. I get a nice pay for being part time (I get 21 hours a week due to school), and it is incredibly easy and chill working there because of all my co-workers.
In March of this year, I was hired as a "fluff" employee at Gamestop; The manager put me on schedule mostly to cover those awkward 4-hour shifts in between supervisors, and to help close the store. Since then, I have become the "senior" Game Adviser. I have my own set of keys to open drawers and displays, but I am not an acting manager. I only get about 10 hours a week there, but it only because our store is small, and corporate doesn't give us many hours between employees.
I actually got hired on a whim, too. The manager is a cool guy, and both this Gamestop and the Hannafords are located in the same plaza, so the employees come to that store for food. He knew I worked there and came up to me when he saw me and offered me a job. After my shift at Hannaford was over, I started filling out an application, and about 25% through, the assistant manager took me in for an interview. I never finished the application! I still find that funny. _________________ Adam|

I'm a 7th Grader. So my "job" is school. And posting on FubTub.
EDIT: I'm an idiot. This thread is about jobs. I started the whole school thing, and I never should have posted in this thread. Quick, someone post about their job so that we can save this thread. _________________ Am I the only one who sometimes comes here, logs in, and fools around?

In the U.S., most people start 7th grade at the age of 12. (like me) _________________ Am I the only one who sometimes comes here, logs in, and fools around?

Thanks Ed, way to have nothing to do with the topic at hand. You're not a mod, so stop acting like one.
As for the kids... look, it's a thread about jobs. If you don't have one, feel free to hit the back button and not waste time posting clearly off-topic stuff. _________________ Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe. - Albert Einstein |

Ed, how far are you through the application process? It's going to be a very long time till you get anywhere near the controls of any plane/helicopter. Don't forget you've got a 30 week-long Initial Officer Training course at RAF Cranwell to begin with. I'm sure you already knew that anyway.
There is alot to do.
The RAF wrote: |
Pilots undergo intensive training, which is both physically and mentally demanding. As well as meeting the basic medical requirements for military service, you’ll also need to meet the standards required for this role.
Pilots must be of the right measurement and build to fit in an ejector seat. Because of this, our requirements are flexible and we work on a case-by-case basis. As well as your height and weight, we will measure your sitting height, leg length and reach length. Potential candidates also have to complete an eyesight and colour perception test and a hearing test. |
You have to be as perfect as a Republic Clone Trooper to get a look in. Reckon you've got what it takes? Oh yeah, don't forget you have to strip to the zero for that very thorough medical.
