Hopefully this belongs here, but I found a topic on Eurobricks covering the new LEGO castle sets that were being showcased at Brickcon2008, and stumbled upon this.

I'll let you make the connection. Wink

I am pretty excited.

Hmm, that's an interesting hairpiece for sure. We'll just have to wait and see. Neutral Thanks for pointing it out anyway. Smile

Yup, as I noted on Flickr, It's so close that it's scary.

It's nice to think that there might be another hoth set that would be along the lines of hoth base... But with like wampas and stuff. Razz

Oh, and you might wanna change the date to 2008, since I don't beleive that there was a tear in the space time continuum at the seattle convention center. Wink

Whoops, I guess I was too excited about LEGO 2009 I guess I just slipped it in. Embarassed Well IF there was a tear in the continuum, I suppose we'd already know the answer about Hoth Leia already. Anyway even if TLC doesn't release a new Hoth set, this just made making a custom hoth Leia that much easier.

Hehe yeah that's what I was thinking.

Of course I'd love to see an official LEGO tauntaun.

Those crowns sticking out the top worry me, though... I hope there isn't a big gaping hole without a crown piece stuck in it. Confused

It looks like that's the final Willie figure from the next wave of Indy sets on the left. The torso is a dead ringer for the outfit she wears in the opening of Temple of Doom.

Yay LEGO, keep the awesome female figs a'coming. Very Happy

I bet that there will only be a tiny hole to fit the crown in, similar to the Native American hairpiece.
When I first saw that queen's hairpiece, I didn't even think about its possible alternative use for Leia. Good job at connecting the dots, guys. Wink

The one on the left looks like Willie (From Indiana Jones)

I wonder if they're making a Indiana Jones Chess set.....

I wouldn't count on that...

but this does imply we will at least get a Hoth control room.

I've read somewhere that during Brickcon a sort of minifig pageant was held, where female visitors could vote on their favorite female minifigs, including some of the upcoming figs. I'd say that any holes for the crown piece would not be standard in the actual final hairpiece, but only drilled in (?) for this pageant.

EDIT: when I wrote this post, I had forgotten where I had found the source of this news. Since then I've found my source: it was a comment for a picture of a new Lego mermaid on Flickr.com
And it seems this beauty won the pageant...

Oh that makes a lot of sense. I was wondering why the Willie headpiece would have a hole through her cranium. Confused Thanks for the heads up alldarker! Smile

Lego in recent times has released a high number of female minifigs, which is awesome to see.

It will be a small hole. The crown piece already exists in the belville line.

It could be for a Endor set with Leia.

I'd prefer that, maybe with some Rebel Endor troopers and Biker Scouts. Smile

An Endor set seems more likely to me. I can't see LEGO doing another Hoth base set.

Just a heads up from someone sitting in at that reveal: the hint they gave wasn't Leia, but "a certain Queen" if I recall the exact words. So, sometime next year we're getting Padme/Amidala in some form for sure. They weren't any more specific about it though.

Well, the only film I remember Amidala having hair similar to the minifig is in Ep 1, where she is a handmaiden on Tatooine.

There Padme had a long ponytail, though, and from what I see of the minifig hairpiece, it doesn't have a ponytail.

That's why I think it would fit better with a Hoth/Endor Leia, although I'm hoping for an Endor Leia, myself.

LEGO's already made a padme head peice.

And this head peice could be for padme in the new Clone Wars Tv show.

It could also indicate that the big Star Wars Lego anniversary set is the Mon Cal cruiser.
