It looks great to me Brickhanner.
The head looks like it could be a LEGO made head. And the shirt print looks great as well.
I really see not issues that I'd want improved.

When i first looked at it i was thinking, "oh just a lego hammerhead fig with a custom torso.." then i realized, wait a sec, lego doesn't have a hammerhead fig!
Basically what im saying is the head mold is so good it could be made by lego officially. Nice job! _________________ OMGz a link!-->Flickr |

No kidding! $89? That's a steal. I wouldn't sell that sucker for less than $250.00.
Great custom though. _________________ Ded. D-e-d |

Heya guys thanks for the wonderful comments.
I have taken my Hammerhead out of my bricklink store as you think its too high of a price to ask. It took me 20 hours to sculpt so I though asking minimum wage for my work was fair. So I am having someone put it up on eBay for me and I'll start it at $9.99. I hope that sounds fair. Thanks again for the comments and suggestions. This seems to be a great community of LEGO fans.
Take care all! |

Yikes! That's a lot of sculpting! The $9.99 starting price sounds much more reasonable though, and I hope you get a fair price for it! _________________ Ded. D-e-d |

And with eBay I'm sure you'll get much more than that anyways. Maybe even what you were asking on BL. Good luck with it! |

Thanks...
Whatever I get I get. Even if it goes for $9.99 then someone gets a good deal. The economy is in pretty bad shape right now so Im not expecting much. I just have to decide whether or not it's worth sculpting for selling or just to keep for myself. BTW Im checking into making a mold of this. So maybe I can sell these at a more affordable price to you all.
Also Im thinking about making a Warhammer 40K Orc head and Space Marine helm/shoulderpad/backpack combo piece...I truely love Warhammer stuff. Im not a tabletop gamer though just a fan of the art/style. |

Will you be making more of those Hammerhead heads? I'd really like to get one for a Roron Corobb custom I am working on.
$5-$10 a head would be an ok price to pay. Then again, it your choice. _________________

$89 for a one off fig isn't such a rare thing. It seems a shame to spend twenty hours sculpting such a nice piece and not cast some more. You may not get money quicker this way but you should have cast a bunch of them. You would have made more that way, even if you had 20 cast up and sold them for $10 or eve $15 each, well you do the math. It could have even been worth it to farm out the casting to a pro.

Basic rules of an open economy is that something is worth what ever someone is willing to pay for it.
But yeah I can understand why you'd want so much for it based on the time you've put into it, but if you can make a mold and reproduce them easier that way and sell them for $10 or less each you'd have a better chance of getting money for the time you spent on the initial molding.
It is after all one of the best custom heads I've seen. Maybe you can talk to LEGO about them buying the origianl design from you. I know that hasbro has been known to buy designs from custom figures to add to there own product lines.
Either way I wish you well and if you do make a mold where you can sell some for a good price I may buy one myself. _________________ Brick Fett

Yes, I'd suggest making a mold of the head before auctioning it off. That way, if you don't get much for it off Ebay, you still have honest people on here who would gladly buy some of those heads. _________________

That is a nice head! As a one off it is definitely worth what you were asking. Is the torso a decal or printed? You have done the majority of the work making this excellent 'fig, you should cast the head and preserve this part. I'll be looking for it on eBay.

I could have sworn that the head was a cast! It is very refined. Great work! I am with the rest of the members here. I feel that the "master" sculpt is too good just to sell on ebay. _________________ My BrickSHELF | My BrickLINK |

TO SUM UP WHAT EVERYONE'S SAYING:
Keep the master cast! We think you should make a mold from it and make many more from there on. Here's a really nice guide to making molds (the links are broken, but the pictures can be accessed by changing "maj" in the URL to "majhost" ), in case you're not familiar. If you make a lot of casts, you could probably make a lot more money than you would from just one single head. From the general consensus here, this head rocks, so we'd probably buy them if they were decently priced.
Good luck! _________________

Only just caught this topic now... Wish I'd seen it earlier.
Congrats, good for you on winning the auction for this figure! I wonder... Would you have access to a mold for this minifighead? I'm not sure if Brickhammer would agree to this, seeing as he sort of has the 'intellectual' property of this item (I think) but if you could work something out together, I'd also definitely be willing to order a cast. _________________ WWAD: What Would Alldarker Do? |

Recasting is generally frowned upon, but if you did it for free or gave him part/all of the proceeds he might approve. Otherwise, I wouldn't expect so. |

Yeah, the buyer has to give a kickback if a derivative is ever sold. Micromark.com, I believe, says that it's dubius to resin-cast any piece still in production (when dealing with mass-market toys). So long as the original vendor is still, uh...vending, the pieces shouldn't be recast. _________________ 2nd-hand LittleArmory|brickshelf|FLICKR

This is exactly the point I was making... It wouldn't be ethical (or even legal) to recast this without Brickhammer's permision. _________________ WWAD: What Would Alldarker Do? |
