A Star Wars themed cover for Empire magazine has been nominated as one of the best magazine covers of all time. For a limited time only, the general public are being given the chance to decide which front cover is the best. The poll, conducted by industry publication Magazine Week 2008, consists of a series of covers nominated by UK magazine editors.
The nomination for Empire magzine is the breathing Darth Vader cover from 2005 which celebrated the release of Revenge of the Sith. The breathing sound was created via a simple open/close circuit with a sound chip (using the same design you get in a birthday card that features a loud noise or someone famous giving you a special message when you open it).
There is also a Radio Times nominated cover which features a Dalek (the edition was published in the week the Series 1 episode Dalek was shown and the UK's last general election was held). I know which cover I'll be voting for. 
The winner will be announced during the week of September 29th.

Update
Just so everyone knows, the winner has been revealed. The Dalek cover got the most votes (thus being the winner). You can read more about it in the Doctor Who thread in the BCS. I really thought Vader had a fighting chance. I mean, a "breathing" cover? That's got to be special!  No? Oh.....okay.

Perhaps they should've had a light up & bleep R2-D2 cover instead.  You would've voted for that one!!
