This set finally explains why Luke easily bested Darth in ROTJ. The poor guy had just gotten out of conference with Tarkin, flew his personal and somewhat cramped TIE fighter against the Rebellion, and then dueled Obi-Wan. He wasn't holding back against Luke as some have theorized, the poor guy just needed a nap.

By all appearances Luke had a busy day too, but at least he got to relax in the barber's chair for a half hour while he got his hair cut.

I just counted the stud width, 52, that's what 16.25" (41.3 cm for you weird backward metric folk Very Happy ) This could fit into the UCS DSII (if you made it a DSI.) Wonder if TLG thought about that possibility

Someone on Eurobricks just posted this:

$399.99 USD
274.99 GBP

3803 pieces

Scheduled for release in September, pre-orders are earlier than you think!!!!!

Sounds about right. 274.99 is very expensive though!

Its a good set and all but you complain about inconsistancy in SW sets then they go use new torso's and colours for pre-existing models for no reason. Plus I'l never afford/be allowed this, so.

According to one of our new Ambassadors, LEGO want the pictures down.
Out of curiosity, does anyone here know how much it might cost to ship one of these from the States of to the UK???
Any answer would be greatly appreciated.

Sod that, then. This set is amazingly detailed and eye-wateringly beautiful, but 70-odd more in the UK than in the USA is just stupid. At least my wallet can breathe easy again.

Kind of why I asked my postage question. We also get the Falcon for 100 more than the Americans.
How much would postage for that cost???
Rory, it's just something we have to deal with, albeit reluctantly and grrrr, with most of the sets from the last two years if they pay $50, we pay 50. And that's the same for most now aswell.
Sucks to be a UK T/AFOL.

Wait till December. I heard at the custom's office that the EU will arise the free amount from now about 30 Euro to 150 Euro. So at least you can save some custom fees.

BTW I think the mentioned price is okay. It's 50 Euro less than the UCS ISD but with more pieces and a lot more minifigs.

Now there's an idea. I would really like to see that done.

$400 USD's, huh? Ouch. I might have to save up for this one. Shocked

Incredible looking, but way too expensive for something which is still a toy.

Wait, can we continue to talk about this or not? The Eurobricks thread has been removed.

Adrain mentioned that LEGO want the pictures down, probably because they were leaked a few days before the official announcement.
Iunno. Why don't LEGO store their images in a place that poeple can't get to.

Eurobricks don't care.

You'd think Steve would mention something if they wanted it taken down.

I'll add this: I believe this set and design successfully transcend the toy genre and cross over fully into the realm of display piece/conversation starter, even more so than all the other UCS sets. I say so because all the other UCS sets have been vehicles, immense hobby kits, but this playset is instead an artistic series of vignettes surveying the highlights of our favorite movies. In my perhaps rare opinion, the UCS Falcon has nothing on this set.

One critique: I dislike the long hair on Luke. They could have tried the Mutt Williams hair, but maybe it wouldn't work.

$400? Nooooo!

....But it's soooo awesome!....
So much buying anxiety for all...

Long hair Luke is also getting on my nerves. Seriously, he didn't have Lucious Malfoy hair in the movies! The old, and plain, style suited the minifig better. I like the DS trooper, too. It's a nice change of color, though not original.

The pictures have been removed from Eurobricks, but to be honest they're all over the place, so I dont think LEGO can do much now.

I'm all over this like white on rice. I can't wait to get this sucker.

But like someone else mentioned...I wish they could have thrown in a truly unique figure, but that's just a minor gripe. Smile

Thanks for making a great set Lego!!

That sucker is easily in the same size box as the UCS Falcon. It's going to be a great set.....but the price is going to be painful!

The new R2 and Vader should be unique enough, shouldn't they?

Thinking Impaired, it saves on cost, we in Europe get ripped off when it comes to buying LEGO, some more than others.
