Could someone possibly post the link to the pictures from Legoland with the Ep II prototype/unproduced sets? I've searched Brickshelf, Google, and FBTB to no avail. It's been a while since I've seen them, but I recall there being an acklay and Dooku's solar sailer. Anyway, thanks in advance.

Karil, I think you and he are on different pages.

When they got the episode II liscense, they produced the Republic Gunship, Speeder Chase, Tusken attack, etc. However, there has been some speculation as to the 'other sets' they were making, like sets for the arena.

I once saw some Arena Beasts on Brickshelf that were supposedly made by TLC for the line, but they were dropped. They were shaped much like the old dinosaurs. Smile

I wish that TLG had sold the Solar Sailer! I would've bought it in a second! Maybe they'll sell one before '11, though. Very Happy

Thanks. Like Clonecommando007 said, I seem to remember some of the arena beasts being shown off.

Anyway, thanks again. It will be interesting to see if LEGO decides to release it one day, perhaps updated or altered.

Laughing Well that makes more sense...

So, next question for you Steve, were there others shown at some point that were actually unproduced sets?

not wishing to be a pedant, but wouldn't details of unreleased sets break the RTB policy ?

Not if the prototypes were put on public display. I remember seeing the photos, but I can't remember if they were "official" prototypes or just some really good MOCs.

Well that makes more sense. Back when we first saw these, I seem to remember everyone thinking these were prototypes or sets that were scrapped.

I remember when Ep. II came out, the Lego magazine had picture of a really, REALLY big Geonosis Arena, complete with beasts, RGSs, Hailfires, and a plethora of clonies, BDs, Geonosians, and Jedi.

I remember something like this aswell, but I think it was a large fan build rather than an official LEGO Diorama. However I do remember LEGO having a small diorama of the RGU with clones and battle droids at some convention where they where first revealing the RGU and Ep II sets.
