A Quick Lesson In Netiquette

Folks, it seems like we've had more trouble lately than usual when it comes to people posting links and images. If you post a URL that happens to be a little on the long side, please be courteous and use BBCode to turn it into a nice and short hyperlink. Example:

Code:
[url=http://www.horriblyincrediblylongURL.com]Click Here To See[/url]

Turns into this:

Click Here To See

It's very simple, and it reduces the amount of horizontal scrolling your fellow members will have to do.

Also, regarding images. Seriously, guys, we're not all using a 21-inch display at 1600x1200 rez (exaggerating, but you get my point). Wink If your image causes the thread it's in to expand off the right side of the screen at all, LINK TO IT instead. Take this thread, for example:

http://www.fbtbforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=10347

That's a bigass picture. Something that should probably be linked to instead. (InsightGoalie, you're not in trouble! Just using you as an example! Smile) If you want to embed a picture in your post like that when presenting a MOC or something, that's perfectly okay. Just make sure you crop and shrink it down to a nice and thread-friendly size. Mike/Count Blockula's MOC presentations are a great example:

Folks, it's really not hard. Follow these guidelines, and you'll be helping us out a ton. We'd really appreciate it. Smile

Input from Tom/Carbohydrates: You can also shorten URLs using TinyURL, but that also hides the destination of the link. Still, it's an option.

Code:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll
?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2
F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=lego+star+wars&c
ategory0=

turns into:

http://tinyurl.com/7858n

Smile
