...pilot! An accurate one to be more specific.
I lucked out and got an ARC 170, but noticed legos lack of accuracy. Sooooo...

Feturing clone face decal.

And the visor is attached to the helmet instead of the face. So any minifig coud wear it.

Gallery.

Enjoy! Cool

Folder isn't public yet but from the pic you provied that's one cool custom. I was thinking how unacuarate they were the other day. I might try something like that.

That's awesome! I take it the visor is a chopped down regular minifig visor? Or something more exotic?

I don't think so; visors don't come in trans-orange. The closest are the trans-red or trans-yellow, but that's definitely either of those. I'm curious as to what that actually is. o_O

"Wow" indeed! That is freakin' AWESOME, DSMan!

I'm still not totally sure about the accuracy issue when it comes to these helmets. The ARC-170 pilots in the Clone Wars series used the full helmet, while the pilots (that we've seen so far) in the movie use the open helmets.

Great work! I can't imagine the difficulty of cutting one of those helmets, and then adding some trans-orange part wedged in there. Eeeexxcellent.

Thanks everyone! Very Happy
For one thing, it is as accurate as I can make it working from this picture.
reference.

And as for the visor. You know how the ends of VHS tape is clear? Well, I took that and cut an approprietly shaped piece out.. (messing up like, 12 times) and I ran an orange highlighter over it. Then I glued on. It makes an awesome effect. Smile

"commander oddball"? Excuse me? Confused
I was only working from a cool pic. The guy's in the bloody trailer. If there's only one of him, then I just made the only one. Rolling Eyes

What pain? To cut a brand new helm or my fingers? Wink
It wasn't that painful, I was pretty confident that if I screwed up I could buy another one off B-link. (The helmet that is Razz )

nice custom man! i like the VHS tape/visor idea but you can use any bendable plastic(like the little tab thingy you can stick on to the top of a folder) for the visor. Wink

That's the guy's name... If you thought I was making fun of your pilot, I wasn't Wink

In the Incredible Cross Sections book all 3 pilots had these X-wing/TIE style helmets. Hehe, maybe even the movie won't clear it up.

I don't understand the part of the VHS tape you are mentioning... But I think this is one of the best minifigure customs I have ever seen! I love to way you painted and cut the helmet so neatly! Great job and keep up the fantastic work!

I have the ARC-170, and the Clone Pilots have regular mini-fig arms w/o any additional decals. Any helpful answers, deathstickman? Very Happy

Great custom! Very well done. I'd thought about this, too, when I first saw the ROTS trailer with the Clone Pilot.
